This is another dumb take.

I think it’s particularly funny to F1 fans because there’s a long tradition of genuinely famous people turning up to races - and they’re usually open and friendly and personable (or want to seem so).

I don’t think you know how any of this works. She didn’t pay to go walk on the grid, she was a guest of Red Bull for advertising purposes. She wasn’t there to look at the cars, she was there for the paycheck.

This was my take as well.  It’s F1's show, and the grid walk portion has been given to Martin Brundle, like it or not.  If you’re given the privilege of being one of the select few allowed to stroll along the grid while teams are trying to prep their cars, don’t be surprised if someone asks for a few moments of your

This. Legit bodyguards aren’t micromanaging access to their client, they are scanning for threats. If the client doesn’t want to interact with someone, they’ll indicate this to their bodyguard and only then will actions be taken.

You mean “Thot Shit” isn’t classical music?   :P

She was there being followed by cameras to promote something as part of some ad deal. Not just for her own entertainment.

Lol imagine being stupid enough to think that “nailed it.” Probably about as dumb as not knowing what the word “demand” means...

Yup. I’m an actual troglodyte. Really not losing any sleep over it, either. Don’t think a 37 year old bloke living in Western Europe is really her target demographic. Both F1 and Martin Brundle have been around longer, and will continue long after Megan Thee Stallion inevitably becomes a has-been.

Work on reading. My entire comment is criticizing Jalopnik’s coverage of F1. The entire second paragraph are the premises of articles Jalopnik has recently written about F1. I believe it’s Elizabeth herself who wrote about how F1 is losing talent to Indy.

I have no idea who she was until I saw her name on a Popeye’s sandwich ad. I still have no clue what she looks like or what music she performed.

He didn’t have a problem with her being there until she and her entourage decided to make themselves larger than the event in which they were participating as guests.

Martin Brundle is right and Elizabeth Blackstock is wrong.

I think we found Meg’s burner account.

Yeah, you would think one of the artists responsible for WAP might have a sense of humor.

Having done security and dealt with (not many, which is still too many) celebrities with bodyguards who body-check people literally just standing around, fuck all of this. If you’re actually famous you don’t need to see people get kidney-punched over how famous you are.

I don’t think he was really even asking, it was more of a joke to start a conversation with her.

He didn’t demand, he asked.

It is impressive how consistently wrong these writers’ takes are on all things F1.

The entire thing has read as mostly tongue in cheek to me.
