You are totally gullible as hell if you really think that advertised ranges have anything to do with reality.

I’m still waiting for the more relevant article: what does the Rivian lack which cars like BMWs and Mercedes have? Those cars have such a long list of actually useful tech that Tesla fans and ordinary Joe’s haven’t ever even heard of. One Jalopnik author just marveled about BMW iX’s augmented reality navigation as ‘a…
Ugh, you watch that Apple crap??
So how about what does the Rivian lack compared to BMW, Mercedes for example? The US automotive press completely failed to underline how badly Tesla was lacking compared to them, what about Rivian?
Why would you say that someone could one-up anyone with an X5 M by buying a friggin EV SUV like that??
No, proper luxury cars do not merely have “a nicest option”, they have incredibly many options. It’s literally a totally different world compared to basic American cars, let alone the stone age losers of the car world Teslas.

Oh, but this gives us the opportunity to buy a hand-made velours pouch/cover that you slip onto it while not using it, then you can put on white gloves, remove the velours pouch and use the controller.

I don’t understand why some people like you keep repeating that over and over.
It’s not junk like Tesla: with BMW you can choose form several seat designs.
It absolutely does compete with the Model X. You make a great observation in that the Model X does offer small 3rd row seats too (in lieu of boot space), but that is only one feature that most people assess when making a purchase decision. It is only a deal-breaker to some, not even nearly all buyers of these things.
Where was this? Your name points to Canada, really?
I’m going to start a new car company and its first model will be named: “Infront”
Put another Miata on the trailer, duh!
Yeah, buy a 1st gen Viper: you can fit a lot of stuff in the ambulance you’ll be traveling in.
Exactly: they could literally swap over to a motorcycle with a sidecar and still have perfectly fine camping trips...
That’s a hell of a long camping trip.
Buy an old Nintendo Gameboy and learn how to Tetris.
And buy a roof box. Maybe step up your tent game by buying a tent that packs into a more compact size.
