I’m with planehugger on this; saying that a broad group of people should be ashamed of their bodies and seek surgical care to “correct” it is fucking disgusting. It wouldn’t be any different than me going on Jezebel and saying, “Fat chicks are gross, they should all just get liposuction! lolz”

I think a person is being inappropriate anytime they suggest that someone is lesser because of a physical feature, and say they should get painful surgery to fix the supposed deficiency. That goes for the comments here, as well as the (far more common) comments women get about their physical features.

Only that’s not what she said. A person can say, for example, “I like women with small noses.” That’s different from saying, “Women with larger noses are lacking, and they should get surgery to fix their noses.”

Flip it around, a guy saying women with smaller breasts than a c cup have no human rights. How well would that go?

“Free stuff” is a little misleading. Many library systems squeeze by with minimal funding from taxes. Please support you local library’s Friends groups and Foundations!

Librarian here.. Kanopy is really really expensive for libraries to own so that may not be available at most libraries (NYPL had to drop it and they have a hug amount of funds..) Hoopla is a pretty good option!

Turns out that attempting to respect your player’s time happens to make for a non-chart-topping game. I don’t think we should be praising the 4 games above it for being so all-encompassing of people’s limited gaming hours.

If it’s not even on the podium of Xbox’s most-played games, what first-party game could possibly crack it?

This guy is scum but I can’t say I really feel all that bad for anyone who would call themselves a “fan” of his. I’ve followed content creators for years and none of them turned out to be cretins, it’s really not that difficult.

Sony’s problem (and I say that as someone who owned every PS system out there, except the PS5 - because duh, can’t buy one anywhere), is that they’re still stuck in a marketing mentality from the 80's and 90's. They’re still trying to sell a product, while the competition (Microsoft) is trying to sell you an entire

This is super ironic to me. Let me tell ya, I’ve been served, time and time again, the eternal argument AGAINST backward compatibility by Sony fanboys saying that they much prefer Sony invest its money in making new games instead, and that BC was for Xbox losers, that anyone who wants to play old game should just keep

I agree with... a single item on that list...

Man, how much did you get from Disney+ to plug Home Alone?

Back to the Future is great and all, but “basically perfect?”

Big Trouble in Little China trumps both of those flicks, fight me.

Even having been lucky enough to get an XSX near launch, I still quite miss the Xbox One’s HDMI pass-through and the ability to use Kinect for voice controls. So take your “Xbox One sucked,” turn it sideways, and cram it in your kiester.

“Lifestyle choice” is just that though. I enjoy gaming, but I enjoy other things as well. Those hundreds to thousand’ish dollars saved not buying the newest consoles and games can be put towards other hobbies. I’m not “missing out” by not being caught up in the drama that seems to surround every new release, AND I get

Other readers pointed out that kids often can’t help being poor, weird-looking, or otherwise non-standard, which I agree with, but the overall point—the nail that sticks its head out gets pounded down, so a kid’s best bet is to appear as normal as they possibly can—is a solid (if depressing) commentary on human

This article is a shitty take on the simple fact that people come in different ages and have different experiences. You’re too young/old for someone? Well then they can just bite your smooth/wrinkly butt.

This. It wasn’t just a typewriter thing; I grew up with double-spaces being taught in my computer lab in the mid 90's.  I’m guessing that, around the time Helvetica was cool and shitting on Times New Roman was gaining popularity... hipsters decided that single space was superior and have not relented since.

Using a single space is not wrong. Using a double space is not wrong.

I’d rather people think I’m old than embrace social media platforms that convince people to eat dishwasher detergent packs. And using one space after a period is just wrong, like pineapple on a pizza or wearing a baseball hat backwards. Just wrong.  Now get off my lawn.
