I’d put Sauber/Alfa, Haas, and Williams as clear backmarkers.

Renault/Racing Point (Aston/Force India)/McLaren mid-field
Toro Rosso/Ferrari mid-field-adjacent (sometimes better/often worse)

That is how I’d rank them by 2020.

BTW, Force India was 4th or 5th in the WCC in 2014/15/16/17 IIRC. They fell back in 18/19, but

2015+ with CVT is the beigest Fit, I won’t contest your assumption.

Racing Point hasn’t been at ‘the back of the grid’ for a long time.

They were solidly midfield from 2010-19. Williams went from P3 to P10 in the constructors standings in a few years because the cars didn’t improve.

Agree. I notice my S2000 key & fob much less in my pocket than I do the (relatively small!) all-in-one key for my daily. Putting a key in an ignition is no less convenient than pushing a button!

I have lived in a cold place all of my life and have never once considered leaving my car running while I fuel up, nor have I ever seen it from a relative, family friend, etc.

To be fair...the Fit has had a pretty decent following in Japan and in the US as a tuner/track car for years. The Fit is what the Civic used to be.

I wouldn’t lump it in with actual beige mobiles.

Yeah, it still leaves plenty of 2015+ cars that easily average 30-40 MPG while satisfying other needs.

20 MPG is still not decent. My 21 year old sports car averages 28 MPG.

Just a heads up, its 2021. 20 MPG is absolutely terrible.

FWD CRV seems like a good fit.
Also Honda Fit seems like a good fit.

Didn’t they say they want decent MPG? In my experience the element gets near SUV fuel economy while also being an incredibly loud and unpleasant place to spend any time.

Is making anti-EV comments on car blogs a part of the overcompensating you’re doing with your own car choices?

No. I have two modified cars.

I also care about the climate, racial justice, and many of the other things the folks on this site write about.

I don’t care about dated cars with overpowered engines designed to maximize consumption with as little thought as possible. I don’t care about cars that are specifically targeted

Hopefully you’re right!

It can be, and is, about both.

That was what I basically thought. Cheers.

I think this all seems pretty fair.

Semi-related: WTB a society where heavy alcohol consumption isn’t normalized.

What is their methodology? I’m all for removing interpretation and grey areas from this.

But at the same time, every drunk driver is attempting to kill people, so there needs to be a concrete way to get accurate information quickly.

This is good to know, is that a universal figure? Like, would Karlie Kloss’ BAC drop at the same rate as Aaron Donald’s?

I am a firm believer in the truth of ACAB...but it seems pretty likely Bruce was drunk and knew the time it takes to get a blood test gives him time to sober up/deny he was ever drunk.

ACAB......but so are all those who operate vehicles while intoxicated.
