I really, really think it is. Just such an obvious trick to pull that no one seemed to really consider it.

Plot twist, all the numbers are just KMH with the KMH scribbled out and MPH in crayon in their place.

Everything makes a lot more sense that way.

That doesn’t in any way qualify someone to run for office.

Welcome!

Terrible, embarrassing, shameful take.

Your biased in favor of a symbol of American excess and waste.

I’m biased in favor of things that don’t ruin cities.

We are not the same.

I’m not opposed to this.

The same soft tires that cost Perez fifth place (no complaints here, not a fan of Perez, huge fan of Gasly) and held Verstappen miles back from even bothering Bottas?

Bottas is no Rosberg...but also Hamilton of 2016 had bad reliability luck and was not the complete driver he is today.

I don’t know what to tell you, if

There was even a brief battle between the Mercs!

92!!!!

I’ve been cheering for Lewis from 2007 on, never thought I’d see this day come & I’m so happy it has.

The greatest of all time.

Also, shout out to Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc for P5 and P4 respectively. Mega drives.

You didn’t watch the same race I did.

Wild first few laps, incredible battles with Perez & Ocon, great stuff from Kimi & Sainz, fun battles with Sainz/Gasly/Ricciardo, etc.

If you’re only looking for something to moan about...maybe F1 isn’t the sport for you.

What happens to the occupants of other cars when they get hit by a 3 ton piece of junk? What happens to pedestrians when they get hit by a 3 ton thing?

If a goofy little microcar is dystopian.....what in the world is the new Hummer, the Tesla truck thing, etc.?

Yeah man, the three ton monster truck is definitely safer for every single user on the road than this tiny one ton little box.

Same here, racing first -> cars as a whole after. I’m also not sure how I got into racing, I remember being a small child getting up at 6 AM on Sundays to watch Schumacher crush the field in the early 00's, while my folks have never had any interest whatsoever in F1.

F1 & MotoGP are my favorite things to watch,

I love racing and need tons of writing about racing.

But I do agree, that very much isn’t what I come to Jalopnik for and would rather see other stuff on the weekends personally.

You’re not getting political. You’re revealing a fundamental compassion/moral compass.

Thanks to Tom for letting us into this, I’d never have thought about this issue otherwise and I like to think I try to consider the struggles others may face.

Yeah, a huge obscenely heavy thing that makes it even clearer luxo-trucks exist solely to inflict as much damage on cars, cyclists & pedestrians as possible.

I’ll look through all of this. He definitely wasn’t the socialist darling that many claimed him as, better than some, far from ideal.

Definitely some things for me to ponder in here.

Real sources on this that I can read? I can find all sorts of documentation of human rights abuses during the right-wing coup against Morales.
