Have you actually looked at Fits or are you just basing it on their footprint? The Fit is more spacious on the inside than a Golf & the like. And Civics are like 19k. 

Or just not buy a Ford. 

Yeah Fiesta is too small for all those things at once. You can get away with that in a Fit or Versa, but not a Fiesta IMO

Three easy options:

-Fit (new or used, all are under your budget, all are reliable, all are fuel efficient, all are super spacious)
-New Civic hatchback
-New Corolla hatchback

Get something fuel efficient & reliable, best of luck dude.

I lived about 10 minutes away from Mullens for awhile a couple years back.
