Hopes might be raised, but the audience continues to fall off. Down to 60% of the pilot audience.

I'm still going through it, but the first half of the script is very dry. There isn't a sense of tension or build, the dialogue is somewhat stilted and without feeling.

V;tM was released 1991, later than year the books upon which TVD (also called TVD) were released. Try harder, try again (V;tM storyteller since '91 - in fact, since a detailed preview article in [I think Dragon Magazine] from which we created a hybrid of off the Shadowrun system).

Care to back-up your supposition with facts? For example, where did you get your 5% from? My position comes from both my experience in the PnP gaming industry as well as those actors, producers, directors, oh and writers who I've discussed this with.

A swing and a miss. Not my point, but thanks for playing.

1. Okay... I buy it... I'd take it another step back and attribute it to Vampire;the Masquerade, but continue...

Can we have a moratorium on love as weapon? It devalues us both. Pretty please.

Wooh, wooh, wooh! When did this become a commentary on quality? It's a show in which the arc is pretty much filler. They're making it up as they go along, using marketing (oh look, sexy pirate spread in ET... see the eye-liner... sexy) to do half the job which writing should do.

Simply put, 1) they're not interested in putting money into production. The only reason Defiance got a greenlight is because of the questionable MMO connection. And 2) They don't want to be known as a marginalized outfit which only produces and shows re-runs of a specific type of show.

Yeah, personally, I didn't need the explanation... got it in one! :)

Bet they didn't see that coming... :)

And that point has been made, and made rightly, by other people. The idea of a rapist suffering due to his crime is an idea which appeals.

I guess they call it "futurist" magazine 'cause "Wild guesses and wishful thinking" magazine wouldn't sell quite as much.

The Inara thing; Let's unpack it for a moment. It is rapists suffering from rape. A "horrible death". I can see the intent behind what they were trying to do, and maybe there's more to the story than just what Minear said, but from the brief snippet, it really puts them in a bad light.

Nice piece (the voice over was a little unnecessary though)

Peter remembered what he did in his timeline. Then he was removed. Subsequently, Olivia "remembered" things that happened in Peter's original timeline (or seasons 1 through 3), but the actual sequence of events is without Peter and without that set of Olivia's memories. In the current sequent of events, Peter never

Your speculation about inserting tech being the third or fourth thing requires that there is any level of deep thought at work here. There's plate spinning and storytelling Lysenko would be proud of. (also, I'd hope that first or second involves detailed study before inserting alien tech into your brain)

Generally, a stock of manuals on a ship-of-the-line would primarily be those required for any duties the boat would be required to undertake. Secondary to that would be manuals for operations the boat may undertake or has previously undertaken if equipped/refitted differently. Thirdly would be personal manuals.
