I have been a nurse for nearly 2 decades now, and I’ve spent half of that time working in the insurance industry. I spent a good portion of that time implementing ACA regulations. All of which is to say that I have a better understanding than most about what the ACA is and is not, and how insurance works.

I don’t remember who said it, but I vaguely recall a quote along the lines of, “Forgive me if I don’t care to spare the feelings of the man who has his boot on my neck.”

*bursts into room, gasping for breath* Students... students of the game! *collapses* Stick-to-it-iveness... *dying breath* They play the... right way...

Don’t forget the Great Obama Gun Purge coming in the next day or so!!!

Sorry, but I grew up in a solidly red county. A very affluent, conservative county in NY. I got the “perspective” of those Trump voters when I was bullied for being brown and being from a mixed family. Those same people are the ones who are now writing hateful, racist posts all over Facebook. I should not have to

“No more Obummercare.”

Yep. Let Van Jones coddle the racists if he wants, but I don’t have time for that.

By virtue of voting for him, all Trump voters are, at the very least, definitely okay with racism. We need to hold those voters accountable for that.

“It has rubbed me the wrong way to hear I have to listen to them but I will not be extended the same respect. I already am forced to listen to them.”

I understand that sexism, racism, xenophobia, incompetence, and corruption were not deal breakers for them, whether or not they personally carry those qualities themselves.

The white people who are saying this to you are idiots, but I can tell you from experience that racist white people do not listen to normal white people either. They don’t listen to anyone except for the blowhards in their echo chambers. I completely agree with Duvernay. There is no point in engaging with these

Yeah, I agree. All those Trump voters telling everyone to fuck off really are to blame.

THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why is the onus always on the disenfranchised to engage, forgive, move on?

I live around people who voted for Trump and I know many of them will not want to listen to me. I’m an American Indian woman with a Hispanic last name. I’m also well educated and a feminist. There are so many things I am that is wrong to them.

Trump supporters have been interviewed about why they were voting for him.

“Distraction is if I stop and try to talk to folks who have clearly demonstrated that they’re not open to hearing that,”

Bingo. I keep hearing certain liberals telling me I need to engage with Trump voters. Bullshit. They’re my same racist relatives who spent 8 years slagging on President Obama. They’re not concerned with coal mining jobs. They want revenge for 8 years of having a black man as President. Trump supporters are racists.

I like this perspective. Now that trump has been elected, white people are ON ME to engage with racists and teach them a better, more loving way. As if I haven’t been trying this my whole life. White people, the responsibility to pick up your own house is YOURS.

Thank God for the Irish or we would have never had seen such amazing players like Tracy McGrady or Shaquille O’Neal.
