Per Good Car Bad Car, total Golf sales were ~42k, with the GTI selling ~20k...so the 48%/6600 base sales don’t seem to add up, but maybe I’m missing something.

I would love that, but they don’t make a GTI wagon at all - the only hot wagon is the Golf R. I don’t really see the R as worth $10k+ more than the GTI as the lineup stands, but if they had the wagon I think that changes the equation a bit.

Does it get to 60 in under 2 seconds? Does it fly? Does it turn gasoline into good noises and/or wine?

Neutral: If they keep making more compact “SUVs” that they become hatchbacks, and suddenly we have a ton of hatch options in the US, bring it on.

It’s cheaper. I’d still buy a GTI again, but my main gripe is that you get DCC at $27k here where you have to get a $34k Autobahn GTI to get it. Then again, you can’t get plaid with DCC.
