I partially agree with your point, however the value of a hybrid, plug in hybrid, or all electric vehicle can be amplified for those who do a lot of stop and go commuting or around town driving. If a good portion of your usage is on the highway then the case for a hybrid reduces significantly.

I might be inclined to support Apple in its stance on patents if it weren't so hypocritical about stealing other people's ideas. While they have had SOME innovative products, the greater majority of their patents are warmed over copies of other people's stuff in shiny new packages.
