Yes the arcade version is a shadow of what the NES game was. As far as I know the NES version has never been re-released. Its a shame it would be great on the Switch. I’d love to play Karnov again too, that’s another ‘lost’ NES gem.

I finished it regularly in middle school but when I go back to it now, I don’t have the patience for it anymore.  I’d happily take a SP version on the Switch to avoid having to grind for long stretches.

Rygar on NES is an overlooked classic.  Easily a top 5 NES game for me.

I agree, that and Zelda 2 were the must haves during Xmas ‘88 and I fondly recall playing the hell out of both during my holiday break that year. Their absence on Switch is strange to me.
