I’m not sure if you have been paying attention, but Hillary brings up reproductive rights a lot. As well as equal pay and paid family leave. But nevertheless, the issue of reproductive rights are going to be talked about by Hillary repeatedly during the general election in which the contrast is starker.
Thank you! Buying for my Momma and me (5th & 6th generation Texans)!!
What promises for example? You can't say they haven't made any. I'm not sure the reason we have not heard about abortion is because they gave up on winning an endorsement. I think the press plays a role too on that. The Hispanic caucus has endorsed Hillary too, not because she made promises but because they prefer…
Exactly what do you expect of Planned Parenthood’s endorsement? It’s unclear to me.
I’m a relatively new citizen though I have been in this country for almost two decades. I still do not understand Americans’ dislike for “the establishment”, that vague term that means I think: the people with certain power that I do not like. It’s weird because all candidates are establishment. They all have either a…
Wendy Davis. Kim Davis is the nasty little underbridge troll who thinks gays getting married oppresses her rights as a hetrasekshul to get divorced a bunch of times.
No, she’s right on this, even if you have valid reasons to vote for Bernie. I see this all the time with commenters on Gawker who say that Hillary is “practically a republican.” This is the woman who was portrayed as a leftist radical in the 90's because she was so outspoken about women’s rights, universal healthcare,…
I NEED that shirt! Where can I get one?
I will never forget watching her filibuster from the balcony of the Texas House. Watching her go to bat like that was truly incredible. It makes me misty just thinking about it.
Oh my God this is amazing and where can I get one?
THIS IS THE BEST SHIRT EVER.
“It was easy for me. I first paid attention to politics and began to think about politics because of Hillary Clinton. I was in my late 20s when she, as First Lady, was working on universal healthcare. Not only was I paying attention because I thought it was such a profound and important policy, but because of the way…
It’s the same reason why people don’t want to help the poor or or recognize minorities as equal- many people only feel good when they have someone to look down on.
I’m still so angry about how the election turned out. I am really not in a position where I can say everything I want to about the people who do currently run the state government but if this world was a just place they’d all be in jail. Every last dirty one of them.
Sort of off topic, but Call the Midwife on PBS last night had a fairly graphic scene in which a woman used a clothes hanger to terminate her unplanned pregnancy with dire results. It illustrated the reality of how terrible things were for women in the not so distant past and what could possibly be the future.
She just seems so...thoughtful.
Wow, it just seems like the Texas Senate could really use voices like hers right about now. :(
I voted for Wendy. I would be sad if she didn’t run for governor again. She would be an amazing one for Texas.
Though it sounds like a trite catchphrase, it is absolutely true: when women do better, we all do better.
