I knew I would be disappointed as soon as I heard Vince Vaughan. I mean, just, why? Season 1 was the absolute best TV I have ever watched. The relationship between Rust and Cohle was engrossing, I agree that’s what it was all about. I don’t care that there weren’t developed female characters, there was really no room

It's so hard to watch! What a letdown so far.

I see Steven Segal?

I didn’t get halfway through episode 1. Glad to hear it hasn’t improved.

I can’t wait to hear about Taylor Kitsch working at walmart.

If we are picking teams here, I am Team Fukunaga because season 1 of TD was fantastic and season 2 thus far sucks ass.

So where, as Rust Cohle (probably) once said, is the beef?

I like Justin Lin in general, but thus far I have been really unimpressed with his direction on True Detective. Cary Fukunaga’s work was so exquisite and the difference is really noticeable.

COLD OPEN

As much as I love Tim Riggins, that characterisation is true of 100% of his acting.

All I'm getting from this (after further Google research) is that he is, in fact, a mega babe. Who directed Jane Eyre, which I loved! Call me, Cary.

I don’t know but I sure hope that every season of True Detective is largely just Pizzolatto hamfistedly addressing criticisms of the previous season.

Counterpoint: We are all “fucking rare” but haven’t figured it out yet. :)

The USWNT gives the USMNT something to aspire to.

Well, yes. Ball in the goal = good. That is a consistent requirement for most sports. I know when to cheer. However, if it isn’t SEC football, I don’t bleed it. Roll Tide!!

I didn’t find the remainder of the game boring because Japan Never Gives Up. I was chewing my fingernails with worry that they might catch us up until Heath’s goal, and even then i wasn't comfortable.

I’m saying the U.S. Men’s team has a long way to go before they’re of comparable quality to the U.S. Women’s team.

I grew up idolizing Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain. I am so, so happy that the next generation of little girls like me have women like Carli Lloyd, Tobin Heath, and Julie Johnston to look up to.

She was dominate even when she wasn’t scoring. The whole team was possessed. The skill level was insane. I watched the game with my brother in law and a friend. We were jumping around the living room like kids. After the fourth goal I called my dad and he picked up the phone and said, without a greeting, “They can’t

My aunt would come to my college softball games and weep because she wasn’t allowed to join the track team in high school or college. My own kids think nothing of the Women's World Cup, girls being physically stronger than boys, or their mom being athletic. It's normal and that is a victory for us all.
