In 2003 when I had to PCS from Norfolk to San Diego (lemme upgrade ya), I bought my parent’s 1991 Toyota Previa. I, and 5 other able bodied college or shortly after college aged men piled in and spent 10 days driving (DC-NC-NOLA, STL, Denver, Vegas, Grand Canyon, SD) in December and Jan. Captain’s chairs in the middle…
no - they invented the old SiriusXM unit that you used to have to mount before automakers started building the chipset into their OEM radios
i used to work for SiriusXM and it’s pretty lol-worthy that in 2021 spotify is introducing early-2000's car tech. we were constantly fighting to get the space on mobile phones that apps already had in cars (which is a big reason why the company bought pandora).
pump to table, as it should be
windshield chip repairs cost $30-40 for private parties. if every one of the 140K trucks had to have chip repair every single week of the year, the $218M in cost (assuming $30 per chip and no bulk discount) would increase the total operating budget of the USPS by 0.3%. Or about 0.03% of the DoD budget.
but muh tesla touch turn signals takes...
which of course explains why the touchscreen has largely failed as a technology. too much deliberate pushing and whatnot.
i saw SO MANY of these commuting around DC and they are even worse in person than in pictures. a true argument for the resurrection of CP, because ND just don’t get it done for a vehicle this bad
you know who never finished above 15th in the Cup series, but he was always #1 in our hearts
all I know is that I’m glad I bought Tesla when the split was announced. a single $1600 share then is now worth $4200. I’m just gonna play it out for a little while and if it drops to double my original investment, sell most of the shares, reinvest in some apple and amazon, and be happy.
posts like this is why there needs to be a downvote option. this one is an all-timer.
the new format for voting, where I have to click through to see the split, sucks hard.
Ford Focus ZX3 manual with 122k miles and a free replacement clutch that you have to install because the current one is slipping. but it’s $500 so you can spend the other $100 on pizza and beers for your friends who come help you do the job
the wrench extender. or as I like to call it, my old lacrosse stick’s shaft - even a lugnot can’t resist that extra leverage
easy. a brand new touring elite honda odyssey. can tow a little when necessary, when when not the family bike rack goes in the hitch. the roof rack holds our paddleboards. with the seats out, you can fit full sheets of lumber in back. it’s comfy for the kids for road trips. it’s got a third row for when we’re with the…
what kind of ridiculous living room do you live in?
so the special helmet is the hungry unicorn?
my 1987 944 Turbo. I DD’d it for years after finding something that was probably better invested in as a concours contender (10K original miles when I bought it in 2000)
