I didn't really know what to expect from this movie except Gary Oldman screaming 'Everyone', so the first scene set a weird tone. I was worried it could turn into a Taken style action film, but it almost immediately dropped that feeling after that scene and turned into a beautiful tragedy, like you said.

My computer seems to be working again so I might be able to start posting more often.

What does this have to do with pop-culture?

I'm young and invincible, so I don't have to worry about my heart failing me. Sorry, gramps.

Hey hey hey, the movie hasn't come out yet. It could still be that.

Titus as Nux. Dong as Max. This could logically happen.

I'm pretty sure we hate all the states we border. It seems like whenever I meet someone from any of those states, we have a peeing race about which state is better when in reality, none of our states are that great.

That scene always kind of takes me out of the film. The Sax guy in Beyond Thunderdome makes me crack up too, but I feel that was more intentional.

Can't wait for the hashtags!

So, since I'm late to the comment board, I can't really go through all the comments but has anyone made jokes about how the first couple of shots made them think this was Mad Max instead?

Self-restraint selfie!

I actually thought up of a spin off (and posted about it awhile back, but don't remember when or what article) about a Joan/Peggy spin-off where they are detectives in NY in the 70's. But instead of a good cop/bad cop thing, it's like a bad cop/bad cop. Both are constantly on edge for their own personal reasons, but

Finally, the Arrested Development/30 Rock cross over I've wanted since right now.

I think the score was the biggest surprise to me in this film. I was so focused on seeing the awesome stunts and cars and cinematography that I didn't really care about expecting much from the soundtrack, but it ended up being unbelievable all on it's own.

So, Borderlands?

"Do you crash unnecessarily?
