@ryoshi: Ah, I had forgotten that bastard of a level. That's the only example I can think of, however. Sonic 3 and Knuckles certainly didn't have anything like that (apart from maybe a tiny section in Hydrocity).

@rolloutroad: the while point is that the HUD is minimal. You can craft a compass, and when you have that in your hand/inventory it shows you the direction to your spawn point.

@WhiteAlexander: I just ran Software Update, but there's nothing. I guess I'll have to reinstall, or at least move the .gcf files from my PC (It's working on there).
