Oh, no! That woman had no veil! That should frighten, intimidate or cause emotional distress to people of some religions, so this site is illegal? Even whitehouse.gov should fall into that definition.

In space no one can give you ice cream
Not sure about Theia in particular, but a younger solar system should had plenty more debris than it have now. And a younger earth could had been more active geologically. And speaking of Theia, maybe its effect wasnt for so long, but what about the closer moon? Couldnt those factors compensated the lower sun heath…
The criteria for deciding what is good or bad in evolution is natural selection, if it helps you survive/mate is good, and if not is bad, and can't be seen as isolated things, but what is the final result. Should not be so surprising that there are things that mixed up would hurt more than help, at macro level should…
No questions/word about Meego? The N950?
The first Hyperion book was a shock, wasnt a just great book, was 6 great books all of different genres, blended in a marvelous future world that had no comparision in richness with almost anything that i had read before (the almost is just in case my memory is behaving again).
... only try to realize the truth: there is no guitar
Isnt that associative memory? You get two (or more) simultaneous inputs (could be internal ones) and later getting/remembering one of them you recall the other(s). It works in a lot of levels, not just for learning. And music is just one of the easiest things to rebuild to get back all the other associated memories.
Some of this seem to be somewhere in the middle between Mimsy were the Borogoves and Babel 17.
Speaking of the Devil... 's Advocate. Was a somewhat mediocre movie until Al Pacino started to play.
Could the Vanishing in the 7th street fall into that category?
The Rapture in 7th Street? That movie was the best (ok, or worst) rapture bombing joke of this year, as a whole.
So the next question is, what was the dangerous predators of that they were facing that only being better in smelling them raised proportionally the odds of survive?
You as a grown up adult don't need religion to be good. But what about the childrens or the entire culture we live in?
Probably it won't be even Meego, but Maemo 6. Prefering Windows Phone 7 over Maemo or Meego really talks about a trainwreck, but not exactly in Nokia's mind.
Religion and believing in afterlife is just... useful. Probably helped us a lot to have a civilization. Without god(s), the existence of (another helpful lie) justice turns baseless pretty fast. Some people die without any reward for good things they did, some bad people die without punishment for the evil things they…
This book should had being called "Leaf, by Asimov", except that most of the tree is scattered all over the place. As someone that had read most of that future history by that time (robots, empire, and collateral ones) reading this book was the last goodbye to that universe, and good part of the impact of it wasnt in…
Regarding the link to the Robots stories, probably the clearest link between both universes was Robots and Empire. If well do well the linking part, really hated how Giskard died, or more specifically, the reason it gave for that. You have to go basically to Foundation's Edge final decision (50k years later?) to make…
If well the TOS Tribbles episode was great, DS9 Tribbles was... well, can't say superior in its own game, but superior in its own metagame. Is an star trek episode about the star trek tv series. In its own game, is probably the best one.
Asimov was my first SciFi author. Maybe not the author of the first science fiction story i read, but the one that was in most of my first books. And i read most of the science fiction books from him, all the future story starting from I Robot to Foundation and Earth, separate stories like The End Of Eternity, Nemesis…
