Mustang Convertible is a better choice. Bigger trunk and much more fun to drive. I am amazed at how many 2015-2018 non-GT convertibles there are for just under $20K. Here is a 2016 for $19,500 with 24K miles.

I will only drive a convertible and I need to carry my kid and often my wife in one every day. I only look at 4-seat convertibles and there are a limited number of them out there for less than $35K. This cross-shops with the Mustang, the Mini, a Jeep, the Chrysler 200 and not a whole hell of lot else. I won’t take a

It’s one of the few usable four seater convertibles. The other options aren’t realistically much better for usability so this is about as good as it’ll get. Not meant to be an only car though like any convertible

Yup.  There’s a reason why rich people stay rich.  They don’t spend excessive amounts of their money on stupid shit like this.

Since drivers have to stop for mandatory rest anyway, this will be fine except for two driver teams doing time sensitive loads. But even they probably stop for an hour or two after that kind of mileage.

Then I suppose that makes a lot more sense.

uh what’s wrong with that rear bumper. undocumented collision maybe?

I do go to the track, but it’s expensive and a relatively rare occasion. The entire joy of driving to me centers around rowing my own gears as I drive through cities, the woods, mountains, etc.

I own a 2008 Element EX like this one. I love it. I don’t think there is a more utilitarian vehicle on the road. Although mine does not have the camper option, it also only has 95,000 miles. According to KBB it’s worth about 11,000. No way does that camper offset another 100,000 miles of use.  Also not a single

My thoughts exactly! I recently looked at a CL car for a friend and found a cabin air filter in a Walmart bag in the back seat. Absolutely the easiest fix other than trees on the mirror. The receipt was 10 months old. So, I pulled open the glovebox and shined a light on the existing filter to see nothing but tree

It’s a tough CP for me, the fact that the timing belt is an unknown entity along with all the seemingly minor fixes that just nudges it the wrong way. I love these cars but at $5500 it’s just a little too much. If this was $3500 that’d be a different story.

NP all day on this one. It’s a fairly nice (even by modern standards), reliable car with surprisingly low miles and a lot of things you can’t get anymore. I always thought these were cool and this is one pedal short of being ideal spec.

I was on the fence, so I picked the middle one. No idea what that means.

Again with the completely unreasonable ask for a close to thirty-year-old car. Fixing the ABS issues is not a “cheap” fix. Got a feeling you will not be able to reliably source parts for this at a junkyard.

$5,500 is enough to get at least 2 acuras (around here at least) that would be much more fun than a legend. It is super clean, just not my cup of tea I suppose. Especially for a fwd, automatic car.

Nice looking, but a 27 year old car that is never going to be a classic. Needs a bit of work and with a ton of aging bits and bobs, it will likely need more regularly. I do like the car and appreciate the effort to present it well, but still this thing has to be down in the true “cheap car” range for it to be a NP,

When the time comes I may make a craigslist ad just to see if I can get a NP or CP post put up here. I’d love to see the critiques (good or bad) of fellow jalops. I’m waiting on a fun manual (prob a next gen WRX or something older). It’ll be sooner than later so who knows if I’ll be able to wait on Subaru.

$3000 is the interesting car sweet spot, right? Pretty much all of us are going to give something a nice price nod as long as it’s 1) Kind of neat. 2) Currently running and decently reliable. And 3) Not completely rusted out.

I’ve said this before, but anything under $3500 that runs and drives and is inspectable (after windshield replacement) is a nice price.
