Usually I don’t have an opinion on these and assume there’s not a chance in hell of the reader actually following one of the recommendations, but in this case Torch is 110% correct. Get the Jag - perfect car to meet the very specific situation and a stretch budget return on a below budget price.

Yesterday - near unusable novelty overpriced by at least $4k. I still say CP, the masses be damned.

Won’t ever be a classic, just a novelty. Could get much more comfortable hot-hatch fun (and maybe even certified used warranty) out of a modern car for the same price.

(Thinking) Have the XJ’s like my university beater really appreciated that much?!?!?

Very close on this one. I love the car and this one looks good (on the outside at least), but it’s more expensive than anyone else (including dealers) are asking, so reluctant CP.

A quick search shows that all the ridiculousness like the fuel tanks and massive wheels are pretty standard for the “civilian” version of this truck and that the price is relatively low for the market. I’m sticking with CP though for the mere fact that there is absolutely no reason for this to exist in this form. If

Sure, you won’t find a cleaner example, but that’s because we don’t need to keep an example at all. Anything above throwaway money is too much for a car I would have had 0 interest in in 1987, much less over 30 years later. CP.

The answer to pretty much all your questions about the gig economy and when will Uber/ride sharing be profitable is right there in the question of when we’ll have self-driving cars. It will be a looooong time before they are accepted as the personal vehicle of choice, but won’t be that long before they’re taxiing

I decided a narrow crackpipe as I think $1500 would be my max, so a good 15% too high.
