Lol, PCs were on the rise well before the debut of the iMac (that didn’t happen until 98). And the iMac really only took off in institutional settings. Compaq, Gateway, and Dell sales were rising steadily leading up to that date and even after the iMac hit, Apple didn’t break into the the top 5 for Global PC market…
