For a DD for sure go for the better price, but for a 'collector' you want the Land Cruiser. Can you get the 470 in a manual? This one is auto.

This is definitely my answer. Ten years ago would have been better (obviously), but they are still on their way up. Must be manual+diesel.

Bah, the Land Cruiser will appreciate more than this. And you can get it in manual and diesel, which is what you really want for these. The gas engines aren't bad, but the diesels are legendary.

Personally, I don't like universal phone mounts. Get one designed specifically for your phone and it will work a lot better, look better and take up less space. I got one for my Galaxy S5 for ~$5 on Amazon (with free shipping) that is far better than these.

The thing is, do people actually still buy CDs? I have maybe 400 or so, but they are in a dusty box somewhere in my storage locker and haven't been touched for years. I ripped all of them at one point and never looked back. Any newer music I generally just stream. When I want music in my car I simply plug in my

While I somewhat agree with you, to be fair, the same thing has been said in the past about fuel injection, seat belts, air bags, radios, intermittent wipers, interior lighting, etc. Basically all 'normal' far features today were considered frivolous by many people when they were new. You want synchros on your

The main problem that I have is that nav systems age very badly. Even a 5 year old model looks really dated and a new phone mounted to the dash will be better.

To be fair, I don't see many pre-2005 or so Mercedes on the road. It seems like somewhere around 20% of them die off every year. Or maybe Mercedes sales just jump by 20% every year. I see dozens of 1-4 year old Mercs every day, but only a few pre-2000 models.

And hey, he still may win the upcoming election. He's polled to be in a tie with his competition.

So to the average person who has never heard of Telsa would somehow see the 'T' and think that the car was "green"? I doubt it.

So you're basically saying that they already know that it's an electric car so they think it looks like an electric car. If you were to ask the average person that can barely recognize a Prius to look at Model S amongst half a dozen other randomly chosen new sedans (that they also wouldn't recognize) I doubt they

Thanks for the info. Good to know that they've considered old fuel. The problem is that the range extending gas engine and fuel tank:

But if the car can go 60 miles electric for 97% of trips and then has a range extender for all other trips, then what is the purpose of all of the extra batteries than give it the extra 140 miles of range? I can see it being useful for someone that frequently driver longer distances, but, highway driving is where gas

When the first gen Prius came out it was pretty different than other vehicles. It has also become the poster child for the eco-friendly car.

1) I thought that the Volt used its gas engine when it was travelling over a certain speed, though my information may be outdated

I disagree. The Model S just looks like a good looking luxury sedan. Jalops could pick it out at 100 feet (along with most other cars), but to the general public I think most people don't even notice it. Nothing about it screams "green" or "electric".

Ah, I thought it was something offered by VW that would be a $40,000 option. As I recall, the transporter isn't exactly cheap. £8000 isn't too bad.

Really? What a shame. The diesel engines are the best thing about Land Cruisers. The gas engines aren't bad, but the diesels are bulletproof. The only problem is that people know this so the diesels tend to have a hefty premium over gas models, especially the turbo diesels (the NA ones were pretty gutless). They

I too had a Maxima for my first car. Fourth gen, 5 speed with every option. $1500, 2870lbs, 220hp, full-size sedan. The only problem is that almost any other car under $5k has a worse power to weight so now everything else I am looking at buying seems slow.
