For a second there, I was hoping it would’ve been a new Burnout game (Burnout Paradise Remastered in 2018 doesn’t count). Not open world, but more like the old Burnout 3 (2004) or Burnout Revenge (2005).

You need to see a newer style slot machine then.  They’re all flashing lights and escalating sounds/music, kinda like what happens when you pick up and open a treasure chest. Which makes sense because the creator used to make/program slot machines.

That is the point, its a super simple control scheme.  You can control where some things shoot and some items always shoot in the same direction.  But the random stuff is part of the fun and challenge.  

Vampire Survivors is the best $3 slot machine I've ever played.

The progression sort of hits a wall once you get close enough to the rolling server paragon level. A friend and I have been playing it since launch, with the intention of paying zero dollars and just seeing if it scratches a Diablo itch along the way.

If I’m playing the game for a refresher, I don’t need my inventory to make sense to the plot. I already know how it plays out and it’s basically a recap.

No shit! No NG+ mode makes any sense story wise. It just gives you a new-ish experience and makes side quests easier.

I can’t remember the last time I put a physical disc in a console or computer. With the amount of patches, updates, etc. even on day one, they kind of seem obsolete, no?
