I have seen over 130 vampire movies, and Priest is in my top 20. Here's why:

Whatever the faults of Smallville in general and the finale in particular, it was a much more plausible, inspiring, and authentic Superman myth than the embalmed Superman Returns. About halfway through Smallville's run SR, the supposed franchise restarter, came and went without leaving much of an imprint except a

"I can't recall a vampire film in the last ten years that I could take as seriously as Lost Boys, much less The Hunger or Near Dark. "

Don't forget the coolest vampire hunter of all: Jesus Christ! As seen in the awesome movie Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter and the excellent graphic novel Loaded Bible Book 1: The Jesus Vs Vampires Gospels.

True, the romancers are dominating, notably the big three franchises.

For decades there have been several different types of vampire in novels, cinema, role-playing games, TV, comics etc., each serving their own genre purposes. A better suggestion: Don't use earbuds. What are you doing with earbuds in the first place - so you don't disturb fellow commuters in the subway as you listen to iTunes? "I'd fuck me ... I'd fuck me ..."

Reminds me of how Hitler meticulously practiced his oratorical gestures and that one such session was photographed.

Its premise of vamps living among humans and subsisting on a blood substitute was before True Blood. (Then again, Sundown: The Vampire In Retreat was before The Breed.) In any case, you're right; The Breed is stylish and fun, and Bai Ling is totally hot in it. One of my top 20 favorite vampire movies.

Bai Ling rocks in sci-fi B movie gems The Breed (alternate universe with friendly vampires and wire fu gunfights) and The Gene Generation (jammed with cyberpunk tropes, including cheesy CGI and futuristic body horror).

Shouldn't Flatland be on there?
