The commentary in the more mainstream (i.e. not “all cars all the time”) press was that the primary benefit to Toyota from this relationship is that Mazda is known for building fun cars that still have a soul. I lived for two years above Harlem (top of the hill in Morningside Heights) where I could hear the ice cream jingle for hours on end. I will go to the grave hearing it on repeat in my head. I would never in a million years have considered asking someone to turn it off because I’m not horrible (not in this way anyway).
