I’m not usually a fan of lowered cars, but that’s pretty nice. Kinda looks like a GTI that started doing weights instead of cardio.

It would be pretty gross, but you’d probably be fine with the halo if that happened.

I am constantly amazed by the improvements in engines over the last 40 years, even without forced induction. The 70's Challenger R/T came standard with a 300hp 6.3L V8. It got 10 mpg on a good day. The 2011+ base model Challenger has a V6 with 60% the displacement, but has the same power and gets 3x the gas mileage.

It cuts a hundred pounds off the curb weight, but the F-Type is already rear-heavy. With the four cylinder, it goes all the way to 47/53. That’s not inherently a bad thing, but the chassis and suspension were presumably engineered for the V6 & V8 distribution. Hopefully Jag has adjusted those to compensate, but

Fair point, though Oswald later defected to the USSR and McVeigh washed out of Special Forces training. My buddy had been a nuke officer (which is pretty selective), did his PhD at a DoE lab, then worked for the DoC/NIST before this interview.

I am at this weird point in the career of people with my background that a number of my friends are working for the Feds, which means I’ve now been interviewed by the FBI... five times? The first time I was asked whether someone I’ve known for 10+ years had ever discussed overthrowing or weakening the government I

I am not anti-religious per se, but I am third-generation areligious and was never taught it was anything other than something to be put up with in others. Even so, I’ve always respected those religions and practitioners who actively seek out people and views of other faiths to see what else is out there.

Are they going to get rid of all the other pagan rituals practiced by modern Catholics too? I feel like some people might miss Easter, Christmas, and monogamy, but it won’t be all bad if priests can marry.

There’s a good This American Life about lottery winners. It explains a lot of the issues.

You are a hero.

Give it a try if you want. Most people (including me) think it’s vile, but some insist it’s just an acquired taste.

Squirreled it away and reinvested it. I am well enough compensated at my job that I don’t *need* it, and knowing it’s there in case of an emergency or a break in employment helps me sleep.

Good info. I stopped after I saw the sorts of articles citing this one.

ResearchGate doesn’t publish anything. It’s essentially LinkedIn for academics, though I don’t know anyone who actually uses it for much. Took a bit of searching just to figure this out, but that article originally appeared in an obscure Springer journal (Academic Questions).

Fair criticism. Personally, I am amazed by his success.

I can’t wait until the two of them go into business together selling moonshine to teens out of the back of an RV parked in the woods.

Quinn was a 14yo, virtually all of whom are idiots. The difference is most people gain some awareness of their own opinions by the time they’re 21.
