I don’t know a single person who’s learned Mandarin (and I know quite a few) who would describe it as easy to learn, and certainly not compared with any Romance or Germanic language. There are whole articles written about how difficult a language it is in very objective ways. Even the Chinese don’t think it’s an easy

As a physicist, this comic rings more true than is comfortable.

The Regera doesn’t have a transmission, except in the general way that there is something connecting the engine to the wheels.

Because Canadians are mostly white.

EDIT: never mind. Someone already made this joke.

I had a rental Maxima in 2015. Other than it being bizarre to have the revs stay the same while it accelerated, I didn’t have a problem with the CVT. I wouldn’t take it to the track, but that’s cuz it’s a boat as far as handling goes. It’s got 300hp and it lets you know it.

I had a rental Impala last year. Aside from being far bigger than anything I’d buy on my own, it was a really nice car. It only had the 190hp engine, but still was plenty responsive. Comfortable inside too, and the infotainment system was reasonably well designed.

This is a great car, but even with nostalgia factored in (I grew up in an ‘83 sedan the same color) it’s not worth the asking price. If it came down below $3k, then things would be different.

Has to be fossil fuel energy production too. Can’t have those solar panel construction or installation workers getting uppity.

The article doesn’t say anything about who conducted the study or what their methodology was. Without that, it’s impossible to say how valid it is. Furthermore, it appears to be in the UK, which doesn’t necessarily reflect attitudes in the US at all.

On a track, wide tires give you a nice big contact patch. Off road, that’s mostly irrelevant. You want to cut into the dirt or mud rather than floating on top of it. Most serious rallyX cars run narrower than standard tires for this reason.

That’s my favorite LeMons car! Need any more spare drivers?

Put the VIN on something else. Done!

Neat!

I don’t know what year you have, but the 2015 update improved the interior a lot and the 2018 one will be even nicer. Personally, the only thing I’d want them to do along those lines is make it come with an adjustable ride suspension. I don’t need the same stiff suspension for commuting as I do when I’m on the track.

I went to Monster Jam a few years ago. It was great! My only complaint is that the event I went to wasn’t in a big enough arena to really let them go nuts.
