I heard a thing (maybe on This American Life) years ago about this very issue, since it’s been a popular suggestion for a long time. They discussed a truly vile businessman, one of those guys you bring in to ruthlessly cut employees, benefits, and even whole departments when you need someone like that. He was awful:

Civics/Accords are far more acceptable than Corollas/Camrys, and that’s part of the problem with the Toyotas: you can get something just as reliable & similarly equipped for the same price, but which drives better.

Had two exes who not only didn’t have cars, but didn’t know how to drive. The first one I taught because it was so annoying. The second one I tried to teach and mostly failed. That was the worst.

Which 2.0 and which 2.5? The FB25 here puts down about 170hp. The FA20 in the WRX is around 270 and the one in the BRZ has around 20, but the one in the Impreza is only 150ish.

The BRZ and new Impreza both use an FA20. Presumably the 2018 XV will as well, since it’s basically a lifted Impreza.

And it has equal length headers, so doesn’t really rumble the way he describes.

This was at the first event of the season here. Not exactly quick, but looked like fun!

I’m in the South. I guess the season just starts late enough that there’s no winter left down here.

I prefer buying clothes and shoes (especially shoes) in a real world place so I can get help with fitting. The problem is mall stores hire idiots and then don’t train them, so they don’t have a clue how to fit customers. As a result, I pretty much never shop in a mall store if there’s a standalone alternative.

They can present with a couple of similar symptoms and it’s likely they have similar chemical and genetic causes, but ADHD isn’t generally considered on the autism spectrum. There’s also evidence they’re somewhat correlated: being diagnosed with one increases the chances that you’ll be diagnosed with the other. The

which is offensive to Autistic people

It has to be something cool, unusual, and well executed. Helps if the modder is well known in the community, too. Even then, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one which fetched what was put into it, especially if you include labor.

I am actually a third owner of an STI, even though I fit the profile of a first owner; I wanted a hatch and they don’t sell them anymore. I got lucky by finding one whose second owner was a college kid whose dad told him if he messed with the car too much it wouldn’t be worth anything -- had an exhaust and some

What’s your wheel/tire setup? Also, you get to rallyX with ice on the ground?!

I would guess most master builders apprenticed to someone else who already knew what they’ were doing at some point.

The typical new STI buyer is a man in his early to mid 30s who is in some sort of professional career. The problem is the second, third, etc owners. The number of these things which are seized and sold at auction more than once is insane.

Except in very rare circumstances, modifying a car does not increase its value. In fact, any significant modification is likely to decrease its value. My car has a well known issue that can be fixed with some aftermarket parts, but I worry about what it’s going to do to the resale value because they’re usually

Subaru STI. It doesn’t have smart cruise control of any kind, though I think adaptive cruise with lidar is an option on the 2015+ WRX. I don’t have a lot of experience with cars that do have adaptive cruise, so maybe they all do what you’re describing.

That stuff is so good. Can’t keep it in the house.
