Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, and Koenigsegg all sell hybrids as their top end models right now. The new NSX is no slouch either. There’s a simple reason: ridiculous amounts of low end torque. I’d be amazed if Toyota, the world leader in hybrids, doesn’t do the same and make it work for them.
People who can only afford one new car (so, most people) need it to be capable of practical daily tasks like shopping, road trips, and having more than 1 passenger.
