for those puzzled about the death of the site, remember: Sonic died once and was resurrected by the kiss of a princess, so just wait.

Apparently this wasn't the first time Tristan (the owner of the site and the one who made the tweet) had made dumb posts like this, and one of their top reporters had enough and quit shortly after the tweet.

I don’t mean any shade, and I’m not speaking of all fans, obviously

you truly are dedicated to forcing yourself to be disappointed

....They did. Back in 2017.

Homie it’s the first trailer, at least temper those negative vibes for some game-play in more detail.

What on earth looks like Sticker Star with this?

A bit early to say don't you think?

Or, y’know, they had to drop it like that due to what’s going on right now

Back to basics week is all about answering the questions people are too embarrassed to admit they don’t know.

Gaming is pretty lucky to have Keighley even if some deride him as a “corporate shill”, as he’s a man who actually loves games and just wants to present them in a fun way for fans even if sometimes his closeness to the industry leads to bad photo ops.

Thats sounds like a perfect fit for you. I don’t know if there is a better journalist in video games media right now when it comes to developing sources in, and reporting on, the industry side of things.

I look forward to seeing your future work!

My work at my next outlet will be more industry- and business-focused and less about playing games and writing about them, so I don’t think the FF retrospective can continue there. But I do have dreams of writing a book about Final Fantasy one day. We’ll see!

Thanks for all your hard work. It really does suck how management led to all of this talent leaving. You were one of the main reasons I come to Kotaku dot com.

Thanks for all of it, Jason. The work you do is so important, and I look forward to it continuing at a company that is hopefully less seasoned by herbs.

Deadspin forever, best of luck Jason.

I’ll sit here and keep wondering how long the rest of the familiar faces across the sites have before they’ll be lost too, or, everything gets sold off again and hopefully to a group less fucking scummy.

I don’t read Kotaku as much over the last few years because my employer firewall decided to put the mark of death on it. But you are one of the remaining writers that I was did make a point to try to read. You’ll be missed.

You have done amazing work here Jason. I’m sorry to see you go, but am looking forward to your new ventures!

Fuck CDPR.
