I can't believe you would overlook the ridiculousness of Futurama’s reverse engineering of the toaster-raccoon, any and all of Eureka’s evolution explanations, and especially, Pokemon.

As a product of technology, as opposed to just the trends thereof – I refused to get an iPod until the Nano had video, and refuse to use other types of iPod because they don’t cater to my specific wants in an mp3 player, I would have to say that this post warrants greater discussion.

This seems kind of counter-intuitive; the cord is the safety tether for the iron. Sure everyone leaves it plugged in once in a while, but at least you have a very short distance to leave it and a visual queue that it is plugged in.
