I didn't realize this was one of those pvp integral mmos. I was interested in trying this but now that i know im def staying away from this. Fuck pvp centric mmos.

I’m still surprised at people’s shock that a non-subscription MMO with major PvP elements is a shithole with shithead toxic players and a shitty playerbase overall.

“It hurts”

No.

You’re in the minority about BotW for sure, but I’m right there with ya. It’s too open world and I feel like the pacing and story beats suffered because of it. That’s why years later I’ve yet to finish it, and I’m a super fan of the series.

Open-world wouldn’t make the exploration part any better. You need some form of walls or barriers because unlike Breath of the Wild that just rolls with the “be able to climb up everything” mentality, Metroid/metroidvanias live from the movement limitations.
Making these barriers believable in a large area like in Far

I like open world more than you seem to (loved BOTW, etc) but the idea that a game as claustrophobic and progression-centric as Metroid should be open world is fucking insane.

I’m with you. I’ll take a well thought out single player game with awesome moment to moment things over open world. Everything is just about open world these days anyway and I’m getting tired of it.

To be honest I don’t really understand the facination with open-world games. Sure, there are some REALLY fun ones out there, but it also feels like it’s one of those words that makes people instantly froth at the mouth and slap the ‘masterpiece’ stamp on games instantly.

You konw those games are on the Sony and Microsoft storefront, right?

Like...nah? This argument makes no sense, unless you only think that games that are from AAA gaming studios are solely worth a play or are a dude bro who “only plays Mature games for mature gamers like themselves.”

OP is right..the argument is old and hasn’t been valid in years.

Umm what? People have been begging Nintendo for an Advance Wars games for freaking years. Yeah its a niche title, but well SRPGs tend to be niche.

Even if it was 10% that was good, that’s 300 good games released within 4 years. Are people really finishing 300 games every 4 years? I seriously doubt it. Especially when games nowadays, such as Enter the Gungeon, Dead Cells, Blazing Beaks, Super Mario Maker 2, Splatoon 2, ARMS, Minecraft, Rocket League, Neon Abyss,

It’s got over 3000 games available, why would it collect dust? Have people really played through all of those, or do some people think games just cease to exist when they’re not new any more? “Switch has no games” hasn’t been a thing since a few months into the consoles life.

You neglect to mention that this isn’t a “free to play” game, this is a absolutely free, no microtransactions, pay what you want game that has the added bonus of a beach side story DLC if you pay a certain amount or above. "Free to play" makes people think that it's like a gacha game, unfortunately.

“This article licks the wrong corporate boot!”

I had exactly the same reaction to trying it out when it hit gamepass PC. And I ADORE Subnautica 2 (and the first one too, but one actually scared me away because it was a little too big and scary in the briny deep, so I never finished it.)

It’s actually why I can’t bring myself try Cyberpunk again. I have a beefy

Russia is also far more culturally homophobic, transphobic, and generally bigoted. And that’s in comparison to the USA, which is far from a bastion of tolerance.

Settle down Francis. No one is going to take away the picture of the lady in the skimpy Santa suit and heeled boots riding the outside of a rocketship from you. On a related note does Railroad Tycoon let you sit ladies on top of the trains like that? Asking for a friend.

What if, instead of that, the humour just really is bad?
