Here’s a free tip. Read MLK’s Letter from a Birmingham Jail and learn how this applies to all faces of life. If you need help understanding the message, feel free to reach out.
Ah yes, because heaven forbid the straights have to be reminded that gay people exist throughout their day, I forgot how traumatic that is for them.
Literally the only reason why the “alphabet soup” exists is because “queer,” which had been the dominate label when the community was more fully coalescing in the mid-late 1900s, was weaponized against us by straight, cis people (started by TERFs trying to segregate trans folks out of the conversation).
People in general don’t appreciate when OTHER PEOPLE apply labels to them, while at the same time finding SELF-APPLIED group labels to be useful for collaboration and shared identity. This isn’t exclusive to people in the LGBTQIA community; rather, it’s a common feature of, you know, humans.
It keeps getting longer because it’s not just “a group of people”, it’s “a bunch of groups of people”.
If you remove capitalism, you remove most of the power companies have to bury that shit. No more lobbying. No more forced arbitration or similar shenanigans. Potentially no more hierarchy which would immediately prevent any kind of “higher-ups” covering up anything because there’s no higher ups anywhere, just equals…
I followed the directions to the letter and ended up meeting my dad.
Guys...I don’t want to cause a panic here, but I’m *starting* to think gaming has a male toxicity problem...
It’s so weird to me that, in a lot of aspects of pop culture/culture, people refer to 2010/the late 2000s as if they’re this long-ago era where we didn’t know better. Dude, if you’re not a child, this wasn’t that long ago. I don’t even think the initial catalog joke was that bad, it was just made exponentially worse…
“I didn’t realize we made someone feel bad because I couldn’t see her face,” doesn’t really hold water for me, because the entire smug, self-satisfied, smarmy tone that they had was clearly intended to make someone feel bad.
“We knew what was happening, but did nothing about it. Why would we? We took part in the illegal behavior. Now that we have been exposed, we want to apologize for failing our employees as a way to placate the public and keep profits up.”
Greg Street works at Riot, also known as the other studio that’s neck-deep in the exact culture that’s being denounced here.
Jesus is that clip heartbreaking, you can see the exact frame she loses all faith in blizzard and then gives that small laugh just because that’s what is expected of her, everything that happened and is happening at ActiBlizzard is horrifying no one, much less women should ever be treated like this. Fuck you, ActiBlizz…
People are allowed to have opinions, yes.
People are allowed to have opinions.
Everyone is allowed to have opinions, but they are not free of the consequences of sharing those opinions, including lost business opportunities.
You do when you’re a private company. Most ToS has a section dedicated to their ability to remove content they deem not suitable for their platform. Standard stuff.
So explain the name Hypnospace then? It’s not a commonly used word, it is a creation for a singular game. If this were a reversed situation, Epic would likely send cease and desist notices. Large companies do steal from smaller creations and do so so as to not have to pay them. Look at Disney’s history of theft. That,…
The “Tom Clancy brand” was always about war propaganda and making as much money as possible. Nothing more. Dude would have put his name on anything if they paid him enough. Stop pretending like it’s some honorable thing that has been sullied.
