Andromeda isn’t “terrible,” gamer hyperbole aside. It has a lot of really good stuff, let down by a mix of bad stuff. Like all things in this existence

*western RPGs. It’s a bit different with JRPGs where everybody is more of a defined character. If a western RPG lets me make a character, though, that’s who I want to play as.

See, I play an RPG to play as *my character* in the world, so taking over other characters at all always feels really weird to me. I played DAI hoping it would be fantasy Mass Effect and found the party control and the way the tactical stuff was handled vs. Mass Effect to be very off-putting.

The movie is being made for kids. I’m not going into it expecting too much in terms of a riveting plotline or a critically acclaimed masterpiece.
