THE AVERAGE INTEREST RATE IS EIGHT FUCKING POINT FOUR THREE PERCENT?????

Holy shit, I had no idea it would have been that bad.

Nothing. This article is written by Erik, he has shitty car taste.

I doubt you are an engineer at all with that comment.

Engineers meet requirements...which are ultimately driven by cost factors. If you “make the product as good as possible” that’s “gold plating” and you will likely just end up with an extremely expensive part/system that goes far beyond the scope of the project.

The

So, basically confirmed my initial thoughts that it’s just an Escape in different body panels and it’s FWD based platform is completely garbage for any sort of off-roading unless it’s rolling around on flat grass.

Got it.

I work for a major aerospace firm in Texas, there was never any doubt that we would get paid (and not have to use PTO to make up time). So yea, super shitty of CIG. Fuck them.

I see your point, but if true it’s been going on for as long as I’ve seen him write for this site.

The only dick here is the guy that has such a shitty view of other people that don’t match his personal beliefs he has a panic attack when he’s around them.

Erik is a clown, and by far the shittiest writer on this site. I knew better than to click the article, but I did hoping there would actually be some actual neat

His only real issue is he’s a judgmental professional victim.

Especially when compared to the coasts. Especially the dickweeds in NYC.

I once got a ticket for tailgating an 18 wheeler in Iowa. It was bumper to bumper traffic going ~5mph in-between stops.

Jesus Christ, did you really need to write an entire story about how your picture would pop up if a republican did a Google search for “snowflake”?

I don’t even like that term, I think it’s a stupid blanket term “those” folks use to denigrate people they don’t agree with....but my god this is it. I get it now.

Lemme

Have a built-in entertainment system in our car. Between that and games on the iPad all of our road trips are pretty much a breeze.

The RFQ was issued in Sep 2020, and The Boring Company replied in November. I seriously doubt they have done any serious engineering studies.

Maybe it’s because I’m immature as fuck but I get pretty giddy when something of mine blows up. So long as nobody was hurt fireballs are pretty great.

I am fully aware of this, I work for a major aerospace firm that does a lot of work with the US Government. Even if we do have an internal agile development cycle for a particular program the USG still holds us to waterfall requirements.

If the work itself weren’t so interesting I’d have been gone long ago.

It didn’t start that way.

Problem with C2D2 is that it’s also a production program. Plus the F-35 was not a minimally viable product when it started LRIP. Stupid decision Lockheed  AND the US Government didn’t learn from when they rolled out the F-22.

And lets be real the USG shoehorns anything “agile” into a waterfall

This is more of an agile development cycle where testing is continuous during development and there is no such thing as failure, as such tests are meant to generate data...not validate a platform.

The development costs are heavier up front, but overall (generally) results in a lower cost and faster development as they

That’s...not how that works. There is a difference between having a process where “everyone can say no” and having a process that makes sure everyone is on the same page. Risk assumption comes from leadership, not engineering staff.

Fewer steps = less time = less capital costs = more output.

This quote is pretty shocking tbh:

The organizational structure errors, they manifest themselves in the product,” he begins. “We’ve got probably the best material science team in the world at Tesla. Engineers would ask what’s the best material for this purpose...and they got like 50 different answers. And they’re all
