If they can fit a 4 banger AND a V6 in there, I’d say there’s probably length and width to squeeze a v8 in there. Not sure about a Ford OHC V8, but it definitely should be possible.

Buy the newest, lowest mileage Camry you can for $10k (A quick look finds plenty 2015s with ~70k) and call it a day. That’s about as “beginner” of a car as you’ll ever need.
