Friend of mine took his black RT and turboed it as an autox car. Fast as all get out.

the only reason why this Lamborghini looks odd in these images (which are rendered from CAD) is because they are not in perspective.
This. As a 3d-modeler I can say lot of perfectly proportioned classics, like the Aston Martin V8 Vantage for example, look really strange in orthographic view. The car is also rendered with diffuse materials. These pictures exist to communicate about the form of the car, they are not photorealistic renderings.
Stopped reading at “weight does not matter.”
Boo this car!
After some more research, here are the blueprint drawings for the Veneno. Again, same stupidly long overhangs as these Centenario drawings, but when viewed in real life, it looks more proportionate.
I think the leading image looks weird because it’s in isometric view, not perspectival view. But it’s pretty disproportionate regardless.
Carbon Cup bits? Been there done that, inside out.
“To get there, the new Elise Cup has a lithium-ion battery that’s 22 pounds lighter, carbon fibre seats (-13 pounds), forged alloy wheels (-3.3 pounds) and no roof as standard. The hard top remains an option, but in case you want to maximize the added lightness, a Carbon Aero Pack is also available, cutting an extra 22…

So I’ve heard Cayman, 4C, TT all here in the comments.
DON’T YOU SEE IT?
Pretty sure that's a starter dude.
I think it’s Clarkson fanboyism, and I’m tired of it, too. It’s on seemingly every Porsche post here. Someone posts a picture of a Bug, or makes some reference to it. Then there are the Beetle posts, and someone posts a 911. We all get it. We all got it, years ago. The joke isn’t “whooshing over our heads”, the joke…
It wasn’t hip to be square in the 90s. Everything needed to be round.
It was the 90s. Design sensibilities were... different then.
Not sure - is it something that’s gained by laughing at a played-out joke that doesn’t actually make sense?
Real talk, no snark:
No wonder purists hated the 996 so much. Beyond the change to water cooling (which was really inevitable) it’s the only time in the car’s history the shape fundamentally changed.
