I feel this thread is a sanctuary of rationality. I'm genuinely shocked how people went agro over DRM, but didn't care about any of the positives it afforded. Now, the next-gen is just this-gen. With better graphics. Hopefully the multi-tasking of the XBone will be something truly great otherwise, the hive-mind of

I'm right there with you. With their previous set up, they had deals with publishers to eventually drop the price of X1 games. Now I SEVERELY doubt those still stand. Bye bye $40 games =[ And sharing your digital games with friends =[ And always available content from your friends.

I welcome all. There's only two kinds of people I don't allow in my town. Those that discriminate others based solely on their culture or color of their skin. And the gypsies.

All GONE! Like the future of lower cost games. You can thank those that refuse to evolve and understand.

No, while the entire game is installed to the HDD, you still need to insert the disc for it to let you play the HDD install. Or else you just install it, and sell your disc, and play the game forever.

Exactly. MS was doing some truly revolutionary things. That family sharing was amazing. Not having to have disc to play your library- amazing. This is just "same old same old 2" and that's upsetting. Cry loud enough and you can move mountains. Especially if what you're crying about is false information and half truths

Did they say they would remove the family share feature? That was the best reason for me to buy an xbox one before and would save me a lot more money in the long run over a PS4.

I agree with you! The advantages of always online wasn't explain well and the general public wasn't aware of them. Sadly the removal of the online requirement does mean digital sharing, and playing games without discs are going away :(

It's been proven again and again that the easiest way to get a company to react is to fuck with the money. Obviously the amount of pre-orders weren't as high as Microsoft had forecasted.

Thanks internet, for defending the status quo...

It looks like most of that is gone.

Sadly that shits out the window.

Yep, due to people complaining about something that largely won't effect them we lost a pretty good feature.

No one is saying it was a perfect system to implement. But a lot of those features were very cool to have, and you can't have all of that without DRM.

Yes. I was looking forward to all of that. Never needing to get off the couch to change discs. Or going over to a friends with no disc, signing in, and being able to play my games.

Those features still seem to be there (at least the gaming part not sure abut family sharing) according to the website.

All those things you mention should really still be implemented by Microsoft. Why? Because that is how you GRADUALLY change the gaming landscape. If they implement those things as well as still support traditional game discs when the day comes to go fully digital etc, the transition will go MUCH smother as the gaming

Yep, they're dust. Thanks, guys.

The silver-lining is that it looks like this has encouraged Steam to implement game sharing :)

Family Sharing was the best part of next gen IMO... DAMMIT!
