There is nothing close to that happening, there are discussions about games made in certain regions and gambling, but nothing that will harm battlefront 2.

I think the market can dictate what it will tolerate. Just like most people eventually gave up on the mounts aside from the most dedicated or stubborn.
I strongly feel that adults have a right to choose what they want to put up with. If the drop rates are too low or loot boxes too high, then they will just pass a…
I guess I just see your argument differently, as all these games use similar psychological methods to extend game life and keep people paying and playing. Just like WoW and the stupid baron horse (WHICH I NEVER GOT IN ANY OF MY RUNS!) it keeps people paying that $15 a month to keep attempting to do more and unlock…
I think no one complained because it isn’t a major issue in WoW, it is a much larger game that happens to have something like it in some parts of the game. I bring it up because it hasn’t been a major issue, and this star wars thing is blown WAY out of proportion.
The claims that it would take $2100 to buy everything…
Removing rng reward systems from games ostensibly would be removing the core components from most games.
I’ve bought loot crates in the past, mostly on Heroes Of The Storm, but for Battlefront, I don’t feel the need in the least. I have been unlocking things at a steady pace, and taking the time to get to know what I want to work toward rather than just blindly unlocking everything or burning credits all on loot boxes…
But why not let the consumer decide this then? As long as everything is clearly stated up front (I.e this is what you can get in these chests) as most games do, battlefront included, if people want to spend money on them, I feel they should be able to. If enough people truly felt that this was something they didn’t…
In that case, the problem lies within consumer education in a capitalist society. We need to educate at a young age why moderation is key to everything in life. That yes it can be fun buying into card games, but understanding limits is what needs to be drilled into people’s skulls.
Currently just like alcohol, eating…
I am not a fan of gambling myself, but I don’t begrudge those that choose to partake. (Same with me and alcohol or drugs, not for me, but if a person of sound mind and body decides to do so, they can enjoy)
The fact is most video games have gambling mechanics within them, even if not directly microtransaction based.
My…
Wow Does actually allow you to buy gold now, You can buy a “WoW Token” which is either used for a month’s subscription, or can be sold on the market, and they are fetching around 188k on the server I play on.
The point is that if you can buy the gold and that gold can be used for a randomized pack does that make it…
You don’t have to pay real money to open loot boxes in most video games as well, including battlefront. In WoW There are plenty of chests that have indirect in-game costs associated with them. (and you can buy gold with real money as well) You can buy an item that turns into one of a number of random different pieces…
Exactly. The other thing people need to keep in mind is that many people LIKE loot boxes. By design they keep a player playing longer than they would otherwise. The whole “one more match and I have enough for another crate” Plus, there is a fun and excitement opening Magic booster packs, loot crates, etc. and as long…
EA is not doing anything surreptitious at all. They are saying “You can spend credits on this or buy crystals to buy more” They make it clear what comes in them, each crate is labeled clearly that it contains X amounts of Y item for Z price. There is no confusion on the matter.
And that is just fine. I haven’t bought a Barbie Horse Adventures game either because that doesn’t appeal to me. That’s being and educated and mature consumer. Rock on! (no sarcasm, friend.)
Wild demons, wild demons, The rippin’ and the tearin’ the rippin’ and the tearin’
So does buying it and not playing as much as hardcore competitive players, even without microtransactions. Besides, the game has systems in place that take all of this into account and pairs you vs people that it can that are reasonably evenly matched.
Every game uses “psychological tricks” to get people to play and pay. Oh that cool skin that you saw on an NPC? Or that weapon you liked that they showed off in a level? Maybe you enjoyed that snow level a lot, well all these things are available more as DLC! Hot dog!
RPG systems are literally artifical gameplay…
I actually do care, and I am not bothered in the slightest by the loot box situation, It has been proven to be blown out of proportion and EA took steps to appease the fanbase. Fine. I might pick up the game, but right now my backlog is a bit full.
I don’t have to be the top scorer in every game, I just have a good…
They realized recently, the vocal minority doesn’t matter. Those precious “core gamers” made up their minds months ago, people on the internet either are or aren’t going to buy the game. The only people they care about are the ones that ARE buying their game. As long as those people keep buying (And they will) that is…
