you know I ventured into the comments section to mention how this sounds weird enough to be a segment of an episode of Portlandia, or even a recurring sketch.

I was going to make an attempt at humorously saying "I doubt this is real since you know, the internet" but then something else occurred to me....
Assuming this story is true, do people talk anymore? I guess it is just me but it sure seems that if this story is remotely believable it means people haven't learned…
That's a pretty standard msrp for most high-quality board games with lots of pieces and high replay-ability.
Honestly you will get so much more mileage out of a 60$ board game than most 60$ video games. Plus better stories to tell with friends!
I bought a pair of 3$ gloves from Target that have touchscreen compatible thumb and finger.
Love them.
I just can't justify spending tons on specialty gloves myself, so $3 it is :)

I just can't…
I am not arguing that this isn't extremely dangerous, stupid and will end up getting someone killed someday, but what are the better alternatives?
The authorities have to assume that every call with some factual basis (the guys first name and address is definitely enough to warrant a serious response) is legitimate.…
I know it has happened to League Of Legends players in the past, I seem to recall a high-profile one that involved a guy named Phantoml0rd.
It seems to happen to people that are having fun/doing well/ enjoying themselves mostly.
I would not be surprised if the demographics of the people doing these swatting things are…
So what is the solution? Be skeptical of all calls that come in saying someone is going to/just murdered someone? Wait for an investigation?
The job of our police officers is to respond to these situations with appropriate preparedness. This is what they did. Why is this a problem?
Wow that was overtly hostile.
It doesn't matter if a detail like that is off, they cannot take a chance on it being legitimate. What don't you understand about that?
The name is incredibly unimportant, what matters is someone is claiming to have killed his wife and said they will kill more people as well as them…
Eventually, it will, and I have no doubt that the people calling these in are hoping for the worst of the worst case scenarios.
When that happens, things will change I fear, and not for the better.
It happens to streamers most frequently but as was written in the article:
A couple squad cars outside and a knock on the door in a real situation as described on the phone would cost lives.
That is the exact reason I don't want to buy rocksmith. If I want to play real guitar, I'll break out my old Peavy and learn again. When I play Rock Band I want to match notes and have fun with friends with plastic instruments.
Wow I looked up a bit on the PDX carpet and I want that patterned iphone case, it is perfect.
To me that is so fascinating, but I think you hit an important part of the whole "Weird/cool" vibe that reminded me of the late 90's early 00's revitalization of downtown Milwaukee. It became kinda weird but there was this undercurrent of "Wow we are so unsual isn't that funny?" but few people actually seemed to enjoy…
Nah, look up Janesville, WI. There is pretty much nothing here beyond bars and churches. And bars next to bars across from bars.
It is pretty bad at times.
If it does, and Portlandia is even 20% accurate, I want to move there. It seems like my kind of town. It really does.
Will it have Jeff Goldblum and Ed Begley Jr. as multiple characters?
