2007 was the only year the 5.5 had major issues, and that was one internal plastic piece that was fatal if it failed, so surprisingly the S600 V12 is more reliable that year. 2008-on they fixed it.

Yeah they’re cheap, but a decade old and definitely did not benchmark the contemporary 2014 S-Class, it looks more like the previous-gen inside which was from way back in 2007, and I highly doubt the ride quality is as good as any S.

Sorry but the Corvette Z06 engine, having been fixed, doesn’t really deserve to be on this list. Especially if the Olds Diesel 5.7 isn’t on there.

If you’re buying it as a summer truck or live in a salt-free area, NP for sure. This has the most reliable AMG engine and I wouldn’t worry about anything going wrong, they’re almost American in the fact that they’ll run shitty forever if you don’t maintain them well, but keep it up and it’ll run great for a long time.
