Myself and some of my former colleagues had a little different idea of how it should go, but it’s not too far off from where you are. Used cars probably wouldn’t change much, but on the new car side we thought the salesperson should follow the deal from negotiation all the way to final F&I signing. Too many

Reminds me of this gem:

Scrolled through the comments before posting because I was going to say the exact same thing.

I’ve never driven anything malaise-era but I had a 60 Impala convertible with basically malaise-era specs. 180-ish hp, 250-ish ft-lb, big bench seats and 2-speed auto. It’s a different kind of fun. I sold it because it wasn’t really my thing, I’d prefer a newer car I didn’t have to mess with all the time, but there’s

For a second I thought you were going to imply it was Joe and Jill making the complaints.

This is the same shit that gets race tracks shut down. There needs to be a section on seller’s disclosure forms acknowledging proximity to what could be described as a sensory nuisance (e.g. airport, racetrack, farm, etc.) and have the buyer sign off on it. Then have an ordinance that prevents complaints about said

Oh man, that side profile is giving me Lamborghini Estoque vibes, especially the rear haunches. A bit of Rapide in it too, long and low, a bit longer than should look good but still perfect. I like it.

Take them off the side.

Hah, exactly! I learned early into selling cars to never believe that story. Too many dumbass kids believing the salvage title FiST they bought and are now trying to trade in was totaled because the hood needed to be replaced and when they finally come in none of the panel gaps match up and it’s clear the entire front

Well it was bought by a dealer, so if flipped means “sold for a profit” like all dealers try to do with every car they buy, then yes it’s technically being flipped.

Falling for the “it was only totaled because of a bumper and a few parts behind” is one of the stupidest things you could possibly do. Unless it’s a Lotus or Viper, where the clamshell replacement is half the value of the car, or a really cheap car that would be mechanically totaled from a major service, it’s never

The worst thing about my 335 is that it’s getting old. Not that it’s getting tired, or that the tech is outdated, but that it’s showing signs of age from daily use, and I don’t want to ever get rid of it but I’m starting to see that I will have to unless our situation improves to the point where we can afford a fourth

Bud, a legitimate constructive criticism isn’t the place to go full Bradley Brownell with a terrible clapback.

Yeah there’s been a problem with Uber/Lyft drivers for a while accepting a ride then driving the exact opposite direction hoping you’d cancel and pay the fee. Pretty sure this is the same thing.

I like them too, it just doesn’t take much to make them look old and awful. A little bit of bad paint color and some shit aftermarket or poorly-painted black wheels they all seem to have now and it looks like a beater.

All I’ve heard about the first model year Taycan is the major issues across the board with battery and electronics. Not that I’d ever want an EV Porsche but if I was in the market I’d fork over an additional $10-20k for a 2021 at least.

It’s just weird to me. I would never say a consenting couple, especially a married one, shouldn’t have kids, but for someone that puts out plans for getting out of debt and for wealth goals like saving for a house, to say “save x, pay off this debt first, stop spending, but don’t wait to have kids if you want them now

Who honestly gives a shit if a Chiron only gets 9 mpg? I’d bet the average Chiron has burned no more than 100 gallons of gas and probably won’t burn much more than that in their lifetimes.

The best one I’ve seen is the disabled upfit credit. So you only qualify if you need to fit hand controls.

I don’t disagree with everything he says, but to me it’s weird from what I’ve heard from his advice that he doesn’t care about two things that are going to affect the financial situation and savings/get out of debt-ability of a poorer person: having kids and maintenance/repair costs. Sure you can buy a cheap used car
