To be fair I’m sure most if not all sold an ok amount of used cars in that time, but on the new car side I’m assuming it’s even worse than that. That average means a large amount of them sold exactly zero new cars for the year, and of the cars that sold a non-zero amount were sold to themselves as either demos,

Most achilles heels car-wise are for specific models, not entire brands. The closest to this in recent memory is the Ford powershift that affected two models. Most problems that are lineup-wide are recall related like the airbags or ignition switches in GM cars, and it’s a one-part fix that doesn’t kill the car in the

It’s a 2020, she didn’t buy it THAT long ago even if she bought it brand new.

It’s a 2020, I did a search of my area and the lowest retail 2020 Forte is $15k. Even if she was offered $10k on trade, assuming she’s financing the Kia and not underwater (I know big assumption) it’s not out of line to think she can afford a payment trading for a similar MY Civic or Corolla.

Yeah but those are actual recalls, they’re fixed and you move on. If you’re worried about the car before it’s fixed, you don’t drive it. You can’t do that with Kia’s issue, it’s a target no matter where you go or where the car is unless it’s in a locked private garage.

It wasn’t that long, 84 Vettes started delivery in March ‘83.

I’m 1991 and damn it wasn’t a bad year for cars. There’s some van from China that no one’s ever heard of but otherwise pretty solid list. Worst has got to be either a pair of Daewoos (Prince and Tico) or the Hyundai Galloper. There’s also a tiny Soviet hatchback called the Izh 2126...

More dealers, that’s the answer! Somebody tell Fiat the news! All they need to do is open up more than the 357 dealers they currently have and they’ll break 1000 sales this year in no time!

Put these at weigh stations, problem solved.

That’s the average new car price. Compare used cars to used cars, and there’s plenty of options that would be half the price with 150k miles. Jeep Grand Cherokees, Nissan Pathfinder/Xterras, a newer-gen 4Runner, Blazer if you want to go even older. And no a Toyota badge doesn’t mean there aren’t age/mileage-related

I think you have something here. The fact that it requires timing belt changes is probably a good reason they last so long. Cars with timing chains have no notable regular under-hood maintenance except oil changes so it’s easy to have uninformed owners just go to Jiffy Lube for their oil changes and not do anything

I don’t give a shit if these things “run forever,” even a “low” 147k mile one has at least 4,500 hours of ass in that seat. It’s a 25 year old truck that was driven a lot and isn’t rare or special. There’s no reason it is worth $32k, let alone the one that’s got over 200k that they’re asking $28k for...

You’d think that if she is specialized in something like this she’d know to NOT have a Kia... I mean obviously it’s not her fault her car was stolen, but we all have the things we know well from either hobbies or work and alter our lives in ways other people might not think to. Mechanics buy cars that are easy to work

Maybe he based it on the Sera because it was a legit production car. There were definitely butterfly doors on race cars and one-offs but they weren’t necessarily GOOD butterfly doors that were durable for real use.

Those are all duplicate door types of cars already mentioned. The ones they posted were (or were intended to be, the CC8s had those doors before the CCR) the first of their kind.

It won’t happen with Dodge...

No it’s not.

That’s exactly why we got the Macan. We always have had fun cars but with a new kid all our other hobbies that took up time and money got pushed to the back burner, and it was worth it to us to spend extra on a car that would both do what we needed and bring us joy even on our commutes.

I 100% get that people can’t smoke meat in their apartment or condo. The point is how many renters are able and/or willing to spend $1,000 on something that does ONLY that, and takes up more space than a microwave and weighs 45 lbs? My guess is not many. Also my suggestion in another reply, from the same link that

The Sport Edition is the 2.0 but it’s still a step up from the base, it’s basically a normal one with all the handling upgrades and a lot of the nicer options too. Ours had an original MSRP of $67k, and like all cars they held their value too well during the bubble and had a correction, but I’d say a 6 year old car at
