100%. If I wasn’t a car enthusiast and that enthusiasm meant spending my childhood playing video games involving powersliding/drifting cars, I would have no idea or instinct on how to handle a skid.

From the hundreds of people I’ve done test drives with all the people that say “ackshually this is how they should be” are the worst drivers. If you put your mirrors this way and still turn your head good on you but everyone I’ve seen do it never turns to check.

Tesla Model 3/y.

Was in sales for 8 years. Had two used car managers, one new car, and one GSM. We didn’t do any of this crap or try to pull one over in any other way with customers, but they definitely had their glaring strong and weak points. Used car managers were there forever and one was related to the GSM, they were good at

Overly nice driving is dangerous driving.

Not UK but similar, I drove through Ireland a few years ago. They don’t (or didn’t at the time) have cameras but people drove well. The difference to me between here and there is there the limits were actually kind of high for the roads. Most of the country backroads were barely wide enough to fit two cars passing and

Oh god now I can’t unsee it. And they’re not an uncommon plate...

It’s great if you love chili crisp but want to put it on something that won’t benefit from heat. I throw it on everything I would put either chili crisp or pesto on.

Eh, I already have three pairs of daily shoes I actually like so I have no need for another pair it would just be for the joke. I spoiled myself with Pilotis and am on my second pair of Drifts since they’re so comfortable, leather inside and suede outside.

Yep, they go door to door after hail storms telling people they have roof damage and it’ll be covered under insurance. They usually overcharge and do a shitty job when it’s usually unnecessary.

Sick of Chipotle. When they went order-only in the pandemic they started skimping, because when you’re not standing in front of them you can’t say “cut the shit give me the full portion” when they scoop out a half spoon of the remaining dregs of chicken. And even since they’ve gone back to allowing you to go in

Heinz has been on a roll for me lately, I absolutely love their culinary crunches, like a chili crisp with not much if at all heat but lots of other flavors. One’s got crispy garlic and onion with red pepper, the other one’s mandarin miso.

Exactly, I was looking for a career change a couple of years ago and about half the sales-related jobs were roofing storm chasers that advertised 120k+, in reality they were no base pay, commission only, going door to door on nights and weekends.

I wanted to get a pair of New Balances for when I drive my Corvette, but the damn things are over $100 now. Can’t bring myself to spend that much on a joke.

All the time. Single-pay leases too. Even if you can pay cash, but it’s mostly in investments that are making 10% or better (plus you’d have to pay capital gains on withdrawals) a 5% interest rate still makes sense financially. And single pay leases, if you pay cash on a new car every 2-3 years, might as well only pay

I don’t think any of our plates here in MN are really dumb looking. However, one of our critical habitat plates does have a stupid color. It clashes with basically every car color you could put it on.

They came from here though. Yes they’re slightly different because they adapted to the warmer water and don’t hibernate but they’re still Atlantic blue crabs that came from the east coast.

I can imagine they will just be Italian about it. Having such a wonderful food culture but will call a dish disgusting and inedible because someone used bacon instead of pancetta in the carbonara. If they don’t already have blue crab in a dish they probably won’t eat it. I say overfish the shit out of them and send

Yeah there are definitely some still with that, but it’s such a typical blanket statement about us flyover states. Just because it’s cheaper to live here than NYC doesn’t mean it’s THAT cheap. My 2br condo in the twin cities metro I bought in 2015 was double that.

The Atlantic must get their car writers from HotCars.com
