I like the way you’re directly supporting the practice of scalping products that people can’t buy legitimately. That’s just super. It will in no way encourage the practice by making it even more profitable and consistent than it already is, ensuring that future high-demand items will become (somehow) even harder to

Why the fuck is Gawker promoting a scalping website? Even though you’re getting a commission that’s just incredibly shitty.

Yeah, this is incredibly gross JFC.

Yeah, this is incredibly gross JFC.

When desperate times call for desperate measures, look no further than the price gougers of StockX, a destination which, ethical concerns around scalping aside, does promise 100% authenticity from every product listed in the marketplace. So there’s that.

Not really. I mean while the internet will have you believe “xBoX haZ no GaMes”, xbox gamers are spending their time actually enjoying games on gamespass and having a great time competitively with xbox live.

Am I the only one who’s actually pleasantly surprised at how in-demand the Xbox seems to be? I was all but certain the gaming industry had given up on the brand.

Purchased a Series X at Microsoft’s site.

I work in the back at best buy where we get online orders and this doesnt solve anything. To compete with amazon, Best Buy essentially turned all their stores into shipping centers where outgoing packages come from store stock.

Those things don’t work against bots. The best thing to do would be some kind of two-factor authentication per each sale. You’d have to use your phone number to get a code and complete the purchase.

Mind you, there are easy ways around this, but that’s not the point. The point is to slow down the bots as much as

Exactly this. Don’t get on your hypocritical high horse and preach about FOMO. That’s the not the problem. The problem is the damn bots. Customers just wanting to buy a new product shouldn’t have to be competing with bots.

Gotta be honest, getting real sick and tired of bots and scalpers ruining any kind of product launch. I feel like we should have come up with a way to stop these ass holes by now. I know FOMO is a big factor and we should all be patient but still, this is bullshit. I’m not even in the market for a 3080 but I was

I’ve been so incredibly annoyed by this whole debacle... I’ve been annoyed by scalpers ever since I wanted a Majora’s Mask 3DS like 8 years ago. I just want to give Sony my money to receive the console. I’ll gladly tke a ticket number and wait in line, just find a way to somehow restrict it to one ticket per person.

Digital will not play hard copies of PS4 games

Neo Geo was hands down the most expensive system. Nevermind the cost of the console for a moment, each game on average cost $200. Using that TurboGrafx 16 as a measuring stick, each game cost $365 adjusted for inflation. :P Granted it was a different kind of beast than your typical console, but still.. ridiculous!
