I’ve learned that men are far more concerned about the labels we give them than what they did to GET those labels in the first place.

“I feel disrespected by the memory of people pointing out I was a deadbeat, rather than the fact that I’m a deadbeat, so I guess my only recourse is to teach my ex a lesson and get her arrested”

I can tell that we’re being snarky but I can’t tell if we’ve come around to a realization of how dumb and performative these prison sentences are.

Legalizing pot is a good thing. But the timing kind of feels like pandering and desperation. Just saying.  Why didn’t he propose this a long time ago?

I’ve been listening to the audiobook. While I could do without some of the cheesy music cues and fake accents Roman does for the Eastern European spies, it’s a very entertaining listen.. If you enjoy podcasts, you’ll enjoy this. He’s also got a companion podcast to the book that’s coming out sometime next month and

He wrote about their stories in his articles. This is his story about how people were trying to keep those articles from being published.  That’s an important story as well.

It’s astounding the extent to which tuition is inflated given that they’re literally starving professors who don’t have the full professor title AND are white and male.

He WROTE THE STORY!  This is the story OF THE STORY!

No it’s not. Have you read the book? It’s literally called “Catch & Kill” and it’s about the practice of ensuring stories about harassment (involving those in power) are never told in a public format. You want the specifics of the horrors that those amazingly brave women went through? Read the article in the New

Except this book is about all the people who were paid to line up and protect HW & Matt Lauer & Donald Trump & Bill Clinton - and while it covers the tremendous abuse these women faced, it is about the lengths that people (men & WOMEN!) went to to protect the abusers....I still don’t understand the push back.

This is a really perfect encapsulation of what the book is about, and it’s not like books about reporting a story are a new thing. Somehow, I doubt that if a journalist wrote a book about reporting in a war zone, and how scared they were being in the midst of that, that Megan would complain that this somehow

It seems pretty clear to me that in the course of reporting the Weinstein story - which was presumably first a piece for NBC TV, which by necessity morphed into a print article when it moved to The New Yorker - a second story started to emerge. It’s literally in the title of this book, “Catch & Kill.” Killing Farrow’s

Number one rule of book reviewing: Review the book in front of you, not the book you fantasize about reading.

I have not read this book. But it sounds from the review that this is just not the book on the matter that Megan wanted to read. I’m sure, however, it’s exactly the book that Farrow set out to write.

The book is about NBC killing the story and Farrow trying to get it published.

It’s inflated partially by the bloated administration operations of modern universities.

If my college suddenly “found” millions in government funding I can promise you tuition reduction would be the last place they’d put it.

I miss those days! It takes every fibre in my being to resist typing out lyrics that I’m singing to on my social media accounts. I don’t know how anyone else can resist.

Biden and Bernie are both condescending in different ways. The difference is basically:
Biden — look sweetie, it’s cute you’re trying and I appreciate the effort, but you can just let daddy fix this and we can all move on. Just let me do it, and you can go and be pretty or whatever. I’m sure you’ll get it one day.
Bernie

Or the “why won’t she just say your taxes are going to go up” fit the media is throwing at the moment. Why yes, thank you “liberal media” for constantly framing the Medicare-for-all question in Republican terms. And when she responds in a thoughtful manner regarding how the cost for average Americans will go down, the
