They turned me off with the free to start idea. I knew it would be a treadmill game. This is a completely different experience than why I got into gaming and I’m surprised it’s coming from Nintendo.

I don’t care about that. I won’t say it’s canon but it doesn’t bother me for someone to do a wild take on Metroid and Team Ninja sure helped to realize that. It seems like an attempt to get Japanese audiences into Metroid and that's fine with me. The gameplay was fun.
