Weird because many MS execs including Mike Ybarra and Phil Spencer said that the New Xbox One Experience updated Xbox One to Windows 10 and DirectX12.

Yeah, Xbox One is an x86 Windows machine with DirectX, just like the PC. MS has told us many times that the Xbox One runs Windows 10, and they’ve sold developers on their own cross platform development tech for decades.
In some ways because it’s easy. It sets up a struggle and a positive goal, it sets up a lot of game reasons why you might have to fight or ration rather than have a lawful and civilized environment with potentially unlimited resources, and best of all the ultimate evil could have perhaps caused or encouraged the…
Using the Vita remote play works pretty well! But yeah that would be cool, the more platforms the better!
I’d love it if they added a VR mode. After playing Rec Room so much, being social online in a game outside of VR seems extremely limited. Being in those environments in VR would be cool AF too.
That’s silly, we’ve done a lot of studies that show otherwise. Violent movies, violent TV shows, violent books, even violent songs: https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-47543875
I guess they’re starting to test their game streaming idea locally in the home first.
I’m assuming all MS games are, going forward
I agree, but if you care about physical then it’s something to consider.
Switch is a great platform if you want physical copies of everything. I don't know if it's just this console but since it came along I've been seeing way more physical copies of indie games and other smaller releases.
Kragl that so it doesn’t fall apart
Ok, I guess Ethan Gach was being sarcastic and I didn’t read it that way.
Probably, as well as potential non-MS games that feature cross play on console.
Connecting online on Steam will be apparently done through Xbox Live. It seems like no matter where you play the game you will be matchmaking through the same service, but you will only have to pay if you have an Xbox One for some reason.
That's weird, MS already dropped "play anywhere?" That didn't last long.
I might play some of these games but they don’t allow them to run on rooted phones and tablets. Not sure why Nintendo would introduce this limitation.
I would like to see what Nintendo can do in VR after playing Astro Bot which is clearly inspired by Nintendo's games.
It doesn’t seem very Nintendo-like to release something that people would have to cope with issues and adapt to in order to eventually enjoy. Usually their products are more fully baked.
Yes, but the game actually renders a bigger space than what is visible in the headset. That way when you rotate your head, the VR headset is panning across a pre-existing frame. This is called “reprojecting”. Even if the game updates only at 60Hz, the headset is still refreshing at 120Hz as it pans across that frame.…
It's more the low refresh rate that is the issue. 60Hz is not good if you want to minimize motion sickness
