I really, really hope you’re right. I’m not saying don’t boycott the companies, and I would LOVE for SCOTUS to prove me wrong and ban the death penalty again. I’m just afraid the political climate in a lot of places in the US right now is SO conservative and so pro-death penalty that not only will boycotts be

Which is wonderful and you absolutely should. I’m just saying the problem likely won’t be solved by companies refusing to provide the products, because pro-death penalty assholes find other, worse ways to murder people.

Good idea in theory, but companies refusing to provide death penalty drugs hasn’t stopped states from continuing to use it, unfortunately. They just use more and more barbaric means. It’s why Utah legalized the use of firing squads if lethal injection drugs were unavailable.

That is badass and amazing!!! But you don't need a fancy party to wear it. You just need to go meet with a dashing burglar to convince him to steal your father's (forged) statue from a museum. (And now I have to go watch How to Steal A Million because young Peter O'Toole and Audrey Hepburn are damn perfect.)

I was absolutely rooting for her, and I loved the ending (somebody above said it was "mischievously misandrist" and that is perfect). But I can also see how it could be framed as an MRA "women are awful manipulative bitches, and that's how you know she passed the test because that's what it means to be a human woman"

I LOVED it! Incredibly well done. Super clever, tense, twisty, excellent thriller. I have a lot of conflicting thoughts about the feminism of it, which I agree is there, but I might need to see it again to organize my thoughts. Also, it was surprisingly funny. I didn't really expect that. Oscar Isaac cracked me up

She's totally stunning! And the list of guys she's played opposite is basically all of my favorite eye candy: Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson (in Ex Machina and Anna Karenina), Michael Fassbender (who she's really dating, I think), Kit Harington, Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Barnes, Armie Hammer, Henry Cavill, Eddie Redmayne.

I'm going to a screening tonight! I'm so excited. I love him and Domhnall Gleeson, I couldn't resist (even though I should definitely be studying for finals instead of going to the movies).

RIGHT?! HAN AND CHEWIE ARE THERE. CHEWIE, GUYS.

My expectations for this are completely reasonable and tempered. Definitely. I’m not getting my hopes up at all . . . Just kidding. I’m losing my shit here.

Speaking of Wilma Mankiller (who I hope gets the spot because she’s awesome and because a Cherokee woman replacing Jackson is perfection), a Kickstarter for a documentary on her, produced by Gale Anne Hurd of The Walking Dead and directed by Valerie Red-Horse, just met its goal. I’m so excited!

Eh, it's a UK-based production, so that seems a little less likely. Seems more plausible that it's because of the timing of the trailer release, with their general election coming up in a couple of weeks.

My feelings about this movie:

Anna Kendrick wins.

I feel awful for him and Tom Hiddleston both. There are a lot of fangirls that not only crossed the line between being a fan and being a creep, but left it far far behind them. (Not everyone! I’m not saying everyone! But . . . there’s some creepy ass shit out there from fans of both of them.)

Bare Escentuals' Lash Domination is the shit. It makes my (already sort of long tbh) eyelashes look INSANE. I've never found another kind I like so much that I have to use so little of at a time.

This isn't related to any of the questions above, but I feel like people here are the right ones to ask my stupid beauty question: Eyebrows. What the hell do I do with my eyebrows? I've had them waxed a couple of times, years ago, and I usually just pluck the stray hairs now and keep that general shape. But they don't

This is me, always. I have gotten to the point where I always get in line for general admission concerts at least an hour in advance so I can be in the front row, just because I can't see anything otherwise. (Also, because front row concerts are great.)

Ah, that makes much more sense. I am no longer sad.
