Yes, I know. But today that is not the case and the EC is not based on slave populations today and the fact that it once was is irrelevant. I could probably name a few things that have both utility and an ignoble lineage.

Anybody who votes Johnson is no liberal by any definition. He shares almost NO positions with HRC.

He actually had a not bad resume!

No.

I said guaranteed ballot access - that is, without having to go through the signature route, or pay fees to get on the ballot.

That’s what killed us? Even though you admit Johnson mostly took votes from Trump, and got over 2X as many votes as Stein could have stolen from Clinton? Get lost.

So it sounds like your beef is with the people who didn’t show up, not the ones that did.

Only because we think that is how it works.

I keep seeing people cling to this and it is missing the point, to their detriment. Yes, republicans in some states made rules that made it a bit more difficult to vote and do seem to have targeted minorities, low income voters and democrats, but in the big scheme of things, they stopped a tiny fraction of a percent

They don’t need to be “equally awful.” They both need to be awful enough that large swaths of people don’t care. And that’s what they were.

Dems win teh popular vote because they have NY and CA.

100% could have voted but the result would have been the same. The Democrats fucked up by anointing a terrible candidate. I’m apalled that Trump is our new President but I’d feel similar if Clinton won. This was the worst election ever. I wish I could just hibernate for the next 4 years...

Voter turnout in the US is terrible. This was a particularly bad election because neither candidate was particularly well liked.

I feel like the only non-joke 3rd party candidate was Evan McMullin.

My friend, a middle class white woman, has been trying to immigrate to New Zealand since 2002 (not politically motivated, just coincidence) and has never been approved. You can’t just pick a country and decide to go there.

Besides...

We probably need new party leaders. This reddening didn’t happen overnight. We elected a savior President and then sat back and expected him to singlehandedly fight all the demons. Today, we lost the Senate and bungled our bet-everything-on-another-President play. It seems reasonable that Democratic Party leaders

Can we please stop doing this! instead of fucking people that chose not to vote for Hilary lets do something to change the reality that huge swathes of the population are racist, bigoted morons. lets do something to change the political system for the better. lets give people candidates they really want to vote for.

Voted Cynthia Mckinney, then Jill and then Johnson in hopes, he would get over 5%. My goal was to try and get a third party additional funding from the government. As much as I disagree with Republicans, I know they support the military and therefore job security is maintained when a Republican is elected for me, I

Wouldn’t people voting for Johnson take away from Trump’s votes? Why is it assumed that if these people hadn’t voted for Johnson, they would’ve voted for Hillary?
