Yeah, I was ready to be a lot more offended than I actually was. Like I don't need to be told and certainly don't want to be told by that guy, but at least it's not terrible advice. I still think I'm too dependent when it comes to house repairs and stuff (he might be putting on the winter tires as I type...), but it's

The fact that he's advocating anything that would allow women to operate from a position of strength is what's blowing my mind, here. Paternalism aside, I just expected (from previous comments) that his essential advice would be "find a man, give him his freedom, no fatties, more blow jobs, and shut up".

Thanks. I write, sorta - I am mostly a translator, sometimes teacher, occasional webmaster. But at the moment I have this idea that I should have an ice cream truck. I'm trying to save enough to buy a van and have it customized.

Okay this part I agree with, though—

"Fatties" and fellow short people? No. Ebola? Yes. Priorities are interesting on this one.

if you can get over a physical thing you may not like, please respond with physical things about you so i can pick the hottest one.

If he were really concerned with ebola, he'd set up like in a ranch in Montana, away from most things, and try to minimize buying supplies. Open space = nobody leaving their bodily fluids on you.

If he is trying to pull in bars, for example, his height is basically a dealbreaker. Because he will not even be noticed. Heck, I am short and I can't even get the bartender to see me at a bar...

Hello, this is Ebola. There's no need to flee. There are plenty of hosts around in the tri-state area. I'm sure I'll find another one soon—but your odds are pretty good. While we're on the topic, I'm afraid that my current host won't be able to stand me much longer. Is there another host who might be willing to

It's not a matter of age, just of intelligence. Excessive profanity is a strained effort to express oneself forcefully. It's always annoying when writers (or, in this case, advertisers exploiting kids) use it for shock value. It has none. You're not edgy.

I'm with you.

It could be argued that reading and commenting on Jezebel is "slactivism" too. And writing for Jezebel just might be "profiteering." As far as I'm concerned, of course. And now I'll give myself a round of applause.

This Is Jezebel, so no matter how positive something is or seems, they find a way to tear it down. It's never good enough. If it doesn't fit their idea of feminism then it's wrong. Getting kinda tired of that attitude around here.

...like peddling click-bait articles to fuel fleeting bouts of outrage while angling at feminist issues, except when called out for being blatantly hypocritical, at which point: "this is a gossip site, not a feminist site"?

How this article reads to me:

I agree and it also leaves me with the negative view that children are being exploited to push an agenda.

I fucking forgot about any fucks they would fucking care to give. I guess we're all fucked by the feelings of frustration fucking forced on us by this kind of fucking manipulation. Fuck them all.

Or, you know, fuck it.

Hmm. I don't know how to feel about this. On the one hand, advertising in general is kind of skeezy. On the other hand, making money isn't inherently bad. I mean, Jezebel espouses a lot of sincerely held, awesome values, and they're still a for-profit company.

I might be getting old or something, but that many fucks in any ad for anything would distract from any message that might be present. Doesn't matter what point they are trying to make by using the language, all I hear is the language.
